TTC repairing overhead wiring on Spadina or Lower Spadina Avenues; operating buses, instead of streetcars, September 10, 11, 12, 13



The TTC has announced that it is repairing the overhead streetcar wiring on Spadina Avenue or Lower Spadina Avenue — likely south of King Street West — overnight this weekend.

Starting 11 p.m. Friday, September 10, streetcars along these routes operate only between Spadina / Queens Quay Loop and Union Station:

  • 310 Spadina overnight; and
  • 510 Spadina.

Shuttle buses replace the cars north of Queens Quay West.

Overhead repairs on Spadina or Lower Spadina Avenues and the resulting TTC detours continue until September 13 (4 a.m.)

From 11 p.m., Friday, September 10 until 4 a.m. Monday, September 13, south- and eastbound cars start their trips in Spadina / Queens Quay Loop, then proceed:

along their regular route southward along Lower Spadina Avenue.

South- and eastbound cars skip their regular stops

  • in Spadina Station streetcar terminal,
  • on Spadina Avenue beyond Sussex Avenue and Harbord Street, at Willcocks Street, beyond College and Nassau Streets and Dundas Street West, across from Sullivan Street, beyond Queen Street West and at King and Front Streets West and
  • on Lower Spadina Avenue at Fort York Boulevard.

Shuttle buses replace the cars north of Queens Quay West.

West- and northbound cars operate along their regular route to Queens Quay West at the entrance to Spadina / Queens Quay Loop, then proceed:

northward into Spadina / Queens Quay Loop,
ending their trips.

West- and northbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Lower Spadina Avenue beyond Queens Quay West and Bremner Boulevard,
  • on Spadina Avenue beyond Front and King Streets West, at Richmond Street West, beyond Queen Street West, Sullivan Street and Dundas Street West, across from Nassau Street, beyond College Street, at Willcocks Street, beyond Harbord Street and at Sussex Avenue and
  • in Spadina Station streetcar terminal.

Shuttle buses replace the cars north of Queens Quay West. Northbound streetcar passengers may transfer to northbound buses on Lower Spadina Avenue beyond Queens Quay West.

310 / 510 Spadina shuttle buses

From 11 p.m., Friday, September 10 until 4 a.m. Monday, September 13, buses replace streetcars along the 310 Spadina overnight and 510 Spadina routes north of Queens Quay West. Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops beside the curb on Spadina or Lower Spadina Avenues, instead of the centre-road “island” streetcar stops.

Southbound buses start their trips in Spadina Station bus terminal, then proceed:

southward along Spadina Road, Spadina Avenue, Spadina Crescent, Spadina Avenue and Lower Spadina Avenue;
westward along Queens Quay West; and then
northward along Bathurst Street to Lake Shore Boulevard West,
ending their trips.

Southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • in Spadina Station bus terminal and
  • on Spadina Avenue beyond Sussex Avenue and Harbord Street, at Willcocks Street, beyond College and Nassau Streets and Dundas Street West, across from Sullivan Street, beyond Queen Street West and at King and Front Streets West,
  • on Lower Spadina Avenue at Fort York Boulevard,
  • on Queens Quay West beyond Lower Spadina Avenue and Dan Leckie Way and
  • on Bathurst Street beyond Queens Quay West.

Southbound bus passengers may transfer to eastbound streetcars on Queens Quay West beyond Lower Spadina Avenue.

Northbound buses start their trips on Bathurst Street at Lake Shore Boulevard West, then proceed:

eastward along Lake Shore West;
southward along Dan Leckie Way;
eastward along Queens Quay West;
northward along Lower Spadina and Spadina Avenues, Spadina Crescent, Spadina Avenue and Spadina Road; and then
eastward into Spadina Station bus terminal,
ending their trips.

Northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • on Queens Quay West across from Dan Leckie Way,
  • on Lower Spadina Avenue beyond Queens Quay West and Bremner Boulevard,
  • on Spadina Avenue beyond Front and King Streets West, at Richmond Street West, beyond Queen Street West, Sullivan Street and Dundas Street West, across from Nassau Street, beyond College Street, at Willcocks Street, beyond Harbord Street and at Sussex Avenue and
  • in Spadina Station bus terminal.
