The Films of Richard Glaze - Trailer Announces Successful Digitization of 2 hours, 30-plus Minutes of Material

We are proud to announce that the mile of 16mm film footage shot by Richard Glaze during the late 1950s and the early-to-mid 1970s was successfully digitized by Frame Discreet, who have done a tremendous job cleaning up and colour-correcting the film.

The scanning has uncovered a stunning array of classic footage from 50-70 years ago that we and the Halton County Railway Museum will be uploading to our YouTube channels. There is a lot to go through, so it may take time for all of the material to be made public. In the meantime, we here at Transit Toronto are thanking the Kickstarter supporters who raised over $7,500 for this project, as well as the rest of you, with this movie trailer highlighting some of the material we've uncovered:

This project could not have been done without the help of a lot of people, and we'd like to thank Transit Toronto videographer Damian Baranowski, the manager of the Streetcar Museum YouTube Channel Trever Parkins-Sciberras, Transit activist and historian Steve Munro, Transit Toronto News manager Robert MacKenzie and, of course, all of the people who promoted our Kickstarter campaign and the people who pledged their support, including:

Thanks again to everyone.

As for the next round of fundraising to digitize the remaining two-thirds of Richard's archive, we are working with the Halton County Radial Railway Museum to set something up that we hope all rail and transit fans can contribute to. This different but familiar venue may be an incentive to get people who might be intimidated by Kickstarter to contribute. The details are still being worked out so, as we say in the trailer, stay tuned.
