Eglinton Crosstown LRT - O'Connor: Roadway repaving, TTC detour, overnight, October 7, 8, 9

Metrolinx contractors continue building the future Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line between Mount Dennis and Kennedy.


From 8 p.m. Thursday, October 7 until 6 a.m. Friday, October 8 and from 8 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday, October 9, contractors are “padding” the asphalt

at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue East with Victoria Park Avenue,

near the future O’Connor stop, to correct any deficiencies in the pavement and to prepare for restoring the roadway.

(Padding refers to the process of levelling the paving to correct minor deviations, before contractors can apply the final asphalt overlay.)

From 8 p.m. Thursday, October 7 until 6 a.m. Friday, October 8, crews pad the westbound lanes between Eglinton Square and Sloane Avenue.

From 8 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday, October 9, crews pad the eastbound lanes between Bermondsey Road and Eglinton Square.


For transit passengers:

  • From 8 p.m. Thursday, October 7 until 6 a.m. Friday, October 8 and from 8 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday, October 9, the TTC is detouring buses along these routes, while the street is closed:
  • 24A Victoria Park;
  • 70A O’Connor; and
  • 324 Victoria Park overnight.

  • The TTC is also temporarily closing bus stops on Eglinton Avenue East near the work zones, affecting passengers aboard buses along these routes:

  • 34 Eglinton East; and

  • 334 Eglinton East overnight.

  • Passengers can also expect delays.

Westbound buses operate along their regular route.

From 8 p.m. Thursday, October 7 until 6 a.m. Friday, October 8 and from 8 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday, October 9, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to to O’Connor Drive and Victoria Park Avenue, then detour:

northeastward along Eglinton Square;
eastward along Eglinton Avenue East;
northward along Pharmacy Avenue;
westward along Biscayne Boulevard; and then
southward along Victoria Park to Craigton Drive,
resuming their regular route eastward along Craigton.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Victoria Park Avenue at Eglinton Avenue East and beyond Eglinton Avenue East.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Pharmacy Avenue across from Craigton Drive and Rannock Street.

From 8 p.m. Thursday, October 7 until 6 a.m. Friday, October 8 and from 8 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday, October 9, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Victoria Park Avenue and Craigton Drive, then detour:

eastward along Craigton;
southward along Pharmacy Avenue;
eastward along Eglinton Avenue East and Eglinton Square to Victoria Park,
resuming their regular route southward along Victoria Park.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Victoria Park Avenue beyond Jonesville Crescent and at Eglinton Avenue East.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Craigton Drive beyond Victoria Park Avenue, across from Rannock Street and at Pharmacy Avenue and
  • on Pharmacy Avenue at Eglinton Avenue East.

Northbound buses reverse the southbound detour routing.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Victoria Park Avenue at Eglinton Avenue East, beyond Eglinton Avenue East and at Craigton Drive.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Craigton Drive beyond Pharmacy Avenue.
