Metrolinx continues to upgrade GO Transit’s Stouffville rail corridor as part of the GO Expansion Program.
From Saturday, October 9 until the end of service Thanksgiving Monday, October 11, GO is cancelling all train service along the 71 Stouffville line to accommodate construction on the line and at GO stations on the corridor. GO buses replace trains between Lincolnville GO and Union Station but leave stations at different times than regular weekend trains.
Southbound
- GO has cancelled trains. GO buses along the 71C / 71E Stouffville / Toronto route replace trains between Lincolnville and Union, but leave each station five to 15 minutes later than the usual train times.
- Buses operate express — without stopping — between Unionville GO Station and Union. They don’t serve passengers at Milliken, Agincourt or Kennedy GO stations.
- If you’re travelling from Milliken, Agincourt and Kennedy GO stations, board TTC buses and trains.
Northbound
- GO has cancelled trains. GO buses along the 71C / 71E Stouffville / Toronto route replace trains between Union and Lincolnville, but leave each station five to 15 minutes earlier or later than the usual train times.
- Buses operate express — without stopping — between Union and Unionville. They don’t serve passengers at Kennedy, Agincourt and Milliken.
- If you’re travelling to Kennedy, Agincourt and Milliken, board TTC or York Region Transit buses and trains.
To board GO buses at Stouffville line stations:
- At Lincolnville, the bus loop is beside the passenger pick-up and drop-off area (or “Kiss and Ride”).
- At Stouffville GO Station, the bus stop is on the street outside the station building.
- At Mount Joy GO Station, the bus loop is just east of the tracks.
- At Markham GO Station, walk along Station Street to the Route 71 bus stop on Main Street.
- At Centennial GO Station, walk to Bullock Drive, past Markham Centennial Community Centre to the Route 71 bus stop.
- At Unionville, the bus loop is beside the station building.
If you’re using a PRESTO fare card:
- Tap on the device when boarding and exiting the GO bus. Don’t tap on the machines at the station.
- If you’ve set a default trip on your card, override the default by pressing the “override” button on the device, then tap your cars as you would normally.
Regular train service resumes Tuesday, October 12.
Metrolinx and GO plan to accommodate more passengers and increase service along the Stouffville line, as part of their GO Expansion Program (formerly “regional express rail”).
