Update — Friday, April 1, 11:49 a.m.: The City is again closing the street to resume construction, starting Monday, April 4, 2022. The TTC is again detouring the buses.
Starting Monday, November 1, the City of Toronto is closing
- Sherbourne Street between Dundas and King Streets East
to accommodate a project (.pdf) to replace the water main and the City-owned portion of substandard water services.
The TTC is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:
- 75 Sherbourne.
Water-main construction on Sherbourne Street and the resulting TTC detour continue until December 27.

From Monday, November 1 until Monday, December 27, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Sherbourne Street and Dundas Street East, then detour:
westward along Dundas East;
southward along Jarvis Street; and then
eastward along King Street East to Sherbourne,
resuming their regular route southward along Sherbourne.Southbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Sherbourne Street at Shuter Street and at Queen, Adelaide and King Streets East.
Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on Dundas Street East at Jarvis Street and
- on King Street East beyond Jarvis Street and at Sherbourne Street.
Southbound buses reverse the northbound detour routing.
Northbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Sherbourne Street beyond Adelaide Street East and at Queen Street East and Shuter Street.
Instead, northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop
- on Dundas Street East at Sherbourne Street.
