Hurontario LRT - City Centre: Construction on Rathburn Road West blocks bus access to stops near terminal, starting November 8

Metrolinx and its contractors continue construction of the Hurontario light rail transit line in Mississauga and Brampton.

Since Monday, August 30, the contractors have been relocating utilities

  • on Rathburn Road West between west of Duke of York Boulevard and Hurontario Street; and
  • on Rathburn Road East just east of Hurontario.

This weekend, Saturday, November 6 and Sunday, November 7 and early Monday, November 8, the work zone blocked all access by MiWay buses to the City Centre Terminal. Although the terminal reopens to buses around 11 a.m. Monday, November 8, construction continues to block nearby stops on Rathburn West. In fact, the work zone blocks access to the terminal’s platform L — on Rathburn West just west of the bus exit from the terminal.

MiWay is relocating the stops for eastbound buses along these routes:

  • 20 Rathburn; and
  • 26 Burnhamthorpe.

Eastbound buses along the 107 Malton express and southbound buses along the 109 Meadowvale express route also again drop off or pick up passengers at their regular stop, platform A — on Rathburn beside the bus entrance into the terminal.

Hurontario LRT construction on Rathburn L continues to block MiWay bus access to platform L at City Centre Terminal until November 26.

This phase of the LRT construction project does not affect the path for Brampton Transit or GO Transit buses — although passengers aboard the buses can expect delays.

26 Burnhamthorpe

Saturdays and Sundays from Saturday, November 13 until Sunday, November 21, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at platform A on Rathburn Road West beside the bus entrance into City Centre Terminal, instead of platform L.

Westbound buses continue to operate along their regular route.

20 Rathburn

From about 11 a.m. Monday, November 8 until Friday, November 26, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at platform A on Rathburn Road West beside the bus entrance into City Centre Terminal, instead of platform L.

Westbound buses continue to operate along their regular route.
