GO Transit contractors have completed construction on the east side of the north platform. Starting “as early as” Monday, November 22 crews start construction to upgrade the west side of the platform. This changes how you board and exit trains on the north platform.
Also, GO has already closed the west side of the south platform to install tactile yellow safety tiles and digital signs.
The work zone affects how you board or exit trains at the station.
Travelling from Malton GO Station:
- Look for signs with information to guide you to where to stand and remember to spread out along the east side of the platforms. Remember that whe west side of the north and south platforms is closed during construction.
- The stairs connecting the east tunnel to the north platform is closed as crews repair the glass. Use the elevator or stairs in the west tunnel to get to and from the north platform.
- The accessible ramp remains available to those who need to board the accessible coach.
Travelling toward Malton GO Station:
- Listen to announcements on your train, becaise some trains will not open all doors at Malton.
- The accessible ramp will still be available to those who need to disembark the accessible coach.
- Check out the boarding guide below before your trip.
Since Thursday, January 7, GO has temporarily changed how you access the station during the next phase of construction. Contractors continue to install utilities underground for the new electrical building at the station.
Brampton Transit, GO or MiWay buses, use a temporary bus platform, just west of the passenger pick-up and drop-off area (or “Kiss and Ride”) near the accessible parking spaces.

GO has closed about 300 parking spaces. GO says, “There will still be plenty of parking available for you at the station.”
This phase of construction at Malton GO Station continues until further notice.
Metrolinx is preparing the station for GO Expansion by:
- adding tactile yellow safety tiles at the edge of the train platforms to remind you how far back to stand;
- installing new digital signs on the train platforms;
- widening the island platform to allow trains to stop on the north side; and
- changing the accessible platform to function on both sides.
Metrolinx and GO plan to accommodate more passengers and increase service along the Kitchener line, as part of their GO Expansion Program (formerly “regional express rail”).
