This construction project affects how you board or exit from trains.
Travelling from Weston GO Station:
- Look for signs with information that guides you to where you can stand. Remember to spread out along the west side of the platform 2 to help keep everyone safe.
- The accessible ramp remains available to those who need to board the accessible coach.
- All pedestrian tunnels and elevators remain open during construction.
Travelling toward Weston GO Station:
- Listen to announcements on your train as some trains don’t open all doors at Weston.
- The accessible ramp is still available to those who need to exit from the accessible coach.
- Check out the boarding guide below before your trip.
Construction doesn’t affect Union Pearson express service. UP Express passengers can still board or exit from trains at their usual platforms.
Construction on the east side of platform 2at Weston Station continues “for about two weeks”, meaning as late as until December 18. Once crews have finished working on the east side, they’ll start installing the tactile tiles on the west side of the platform.
GO closed the east side of platform 2 at Weston Station, starting Tuesday, May 25.
Similarly, GO closed the west end of platform 3 at the station to install the tiles and signs, starting Monday, May 10.
And, GO closed part of the north platform (platform 1) at the station, starting Monday, April 5.
Since Monday, June 3, 2019, GO has closed the passenger pick-up and drop-off area (or “kiss ‘n’ ride”) and nine parking spots in the east parking lot at the station. The closures support an ongoing project to build a new track and platform and other amenities.
Metrolinx and GO plan to accommodate more passengers and increase service along the Kitchener line, as part of their GO Expansion Program (formerly “regional express rail”).
