Brampton Transit temporarily cancelling and reducing services, January 17



Update — Wednesday, January 19, 12:38 a.m. — Although secondary schools — and high-school special bus routes — were scheduled to reopen Monday, January 17, a major winter storm kept schools closed for two days. Schools reopen and high-school special services resume Wednesday, January 19.


Due to COVID-19-related staff shortages and fewer riders, starting Monday, January 17, Brampton Transit is temporarily cancelling and reducing services “to ensure our transit system can continue to safely move people around [Brampton] effectively.”

BT is cancelling (or has already cancelled) service along these routes every day:

  • 13 Avondale;
  • 18B Dixie (18 still operating);
  • 21 Heart Lake;
  • 25 Edenbrook;
  • 27 Robert Parkinson;
  • 28 Wanless;
  • 33 Peter Robertson;
  • 36 Gardenbrooke;
  • 40 Central Industrial;
  • 55 Elbern Markell;
  • 58 Financial Drive;
  • 65 Seniors Shopper;
  • 81 Mayfield West;
  • 92 Bramalea GO;
  • 104 Chinguacousy express;
  • 185 Dixie express;
  • 199 UTM express;
  • 501A / 501C Züm Queen (501 still operating);
  • 511C Züm Steeles (511 / 511A still operating); and
  • 561 Züm Queen West.

BT is cancelling (or has already cancelled) service along these routes evenings (after about 7 p.m.):

  • 12 Grenoble;
  • 16 Southgate; and
  • 26 Mount Pleasant,

BT is cancelling (or has already cancelled) service along these routes Saturdays:

  • 12 Grenoble;
  • 16 Southgate;
  • 17 Howden; and
  • 19 Fernforest.

BT is also revising service, including decreasing the frequency of service, along these routes:

  • 2 Main
  • BT is decreasing the frequency of service to every 30 minutes Mondays to Fridays before 7 p.m.
  • 3 / 3A McLaughlin
  • BT is decreasing the frequency of service to every 15 minutes Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.
  • 4 / 4A Chinguacousy
  • BT is adjusting the Monday-to-Friday schedules.
  • 5 / 5A Bovaird
  • BT is adjusting the Monday-to-Friday schedules.
  • 7/7A Kennedy
  • BT is adjusting the Monday-to-Friday schedules.
  • 9 Vodden
  • BT is adjusting the Monday-to-Friday schedules.
  • 12 Grenoble
  • Monday-to-Friday service only.
  • 15 Bramalea
  • BT is decreasing the frequency of service to every 15 minutes Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.

  • BT is adjusting the Monday-to-Friday schedules.
  • 60 Mississauga Road
  • BT is decreasing the frequency of service to every 70 minutes Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.
  • It’s cancelling Monday-to-Friday midday service.
  • 501 Züm Queen
  • BT is decreasing service and decreasing the frequency of service to every 10 minutes east of Bramalea Terminal.
  • 505 Züm Bovaird
  • BT is decreasing the frequency of service to every 20 minutes Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.
  • 511C Züm Steeles
  • BT is cancelling 511C service to and from Sheridan College’s Davis campus; buses continue to operate along the 511 and 511A branches.

Brampton Transit is cancelling and reducing services until further notice. It says it will continue to monitor resource availability and ridership and will “restore services as soon as possible”.

As in-class learning is resuming in secondary schools, BT is also restoring service to high-school special routes, starting January 17.
