Burnhamthorpe Water Project - Kariya Gate: MiWay detours buses during Kariya Gate Mississauga overnight closure, February 1, 2, 3



From 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 1 until 5 a.m. Wednesday, February 2 and continuing overnight nightly, the City of Mississauga is closing

  • Kariya Gate, northbound lanes, between Burnhamthorpe Road West and City Centre Drive

to accommodate Region of Peel contractors who are installing a sanitary sewer. (The work is just one component of the larger Burnhamthorpe water project to improve water services in the Mississauga City Centre area.)

MiWay is detouring buses along this route around the work zone:

  • 3 Bloor.

Sewer construction on Kariya Gate and the resulting MiWay detour continue overnight nightly until February 4 (5 a.m.).


3 Bloor

Eastbound buses operate along their regular route.

From 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 1 until 5 a.m. Wednesday, February 2 and continuing overnight nightly until 5 a.m. Friday, February 4, westbound buses operate along their regular route to Hurontario Street and Burnhamthorpe Road, then detour:

northward along Hurontario; and the
westward along Robert Speck Parkway West to City Centre Drive,
resuming their regular route northward along City Centre.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Kariya Gate at City Centre Drive and
  • on City Centre Drive beyond Kariya Gate and at Robert Speck Parkway West.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Robert Speck Parkway West at City Centre Drive.
