Lower Sherbourne crane activity: TTC detour, February 4, 5, 6



Starting 9 a.m. Friday, February 4, the City of Toronto is closing

  • Lower Sherbourne Street between Front Street East and The Esplanade,

to accommodate contractors who are removing a crane from a construction site.

The TTC is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 75 Sherbourne.

Crane activity on Lower Sherbourne Street and the resulting TTC detour continue until February 6.


75 Sherbourne

From 9 a.m. Friday, February 4 until 11 p.m. Sunday, February 6, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Sherbourne Street and Front Street East, then detour:

eastward along Front East;
southward along Princess Street; and then
westward along The Esplanade to Lower Sherbourne Street,
resuming their regular route southward along Lower Sherbourne.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Sherbourne Street at Front Street East and
  • on Lower Sherbourne Street at The Esplanade.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on The Esplanade at Lower Sherbourne Street.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route to The Esplanade and Lower Sherbourne Street, then detour:

eastward along The Esplanade;
northward along Princess Street; and then
westward along Front Street East to Lower Sherbourne Street / Sherbourne Street,
resuming their regular route northward along Sherbourne.

Northbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Lower Sherbourne Street at Front Street East.

Instead, northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Princess Street beyond The Esplanade.
