MiWay revises routes and services, February 22

Starting Tuesday, February 22, MiWay is revising its services by introducing a new route, 18 McLaughlin - Derry, to provide more Monday-to-Friday service between north Mississauga and Brampton. It’s also restoring Monday-to-Friday service along the 101 / 101A Dundas express route, including more service along Dundas Streets West and East and to and from the University of Toronto’s Mississauga campus.

MiWay is also adjusting the service frequencies along several other routes to respond to passenger demand.

  • 100 Airport express;
  • 101 / 101A Dundas express (Saturdays only — service continues Mondays to Fridays);
  • 104 Derry express;
  • 185 Dixie express.

Buses along the new route help reduce the potential for overcrowding aboard buses along the 66 McLaughlin route in areas north of Derry West, where ridership now exceeds pre-pandemic levels. By providing an alternative to route 66, passengers who are transferring to or from buses along the 42 Derry and 17 Hurontario routes have more options to connect to MiWay and Brampton Transit service on the campus and at carpool lot.

Southbound buses start their trips in the terminal on Sheridan College’s Davis campus, then proceed:

south- and westward along Sheridan College Drive;
southward along McLaughlin Road South [Brampton] and McLaughlin Road [Mississauga];
eastward along Derry Roads West and East;
northward along Edwards Boulevard; and then
eastward into the Hurontario / Highway 407 Park and Ride carpool lot.

Increasing service along routes

101 / 101 Dundas express

Starting Tuesday, February 22, MiWay resumes service along the route, it says, “to provide more weekday capacity along the Dundas corridor, and between the University of Toronto’s Mississauga (UTM) campus and the Kipling Bus Terminal.”

MiWay has temporarily suspended Monday-to-Friday service along the route since Monday, January 7, but, since in-person learning has resumed at UTM, the transit agency has “seen an increase in [passenger] demand.”

MiWay continues to suspend Saturday service along the route, as it has since July, 2020.
