Starting Monday, March 7, Durham Region Transit is modifying its service to increase frequency, revise routings and restore trips that it temporarily cancelled or reduced.
DRT says it’s making these schedule and route changes “to adjust to ridership trends.”
DRT is revising service along these routes: 101 / 101A Bay Ridges; 103 Glenanna; 291 Harwood - Kingston; 411 South Courtice; 902 King; 915 Taunton; 917 Bayly - Consumers.
Specifically, DRT is increasing service along routes; decreasing service along a route; increasing the frequency of service along routes; revising the path for buses along a route; and making other changes to service along routes.
Increasing service along routes
103 Glenanna
Starting Monday, March 7, DRT operate a bus on a new eastbound trip along the route early Monday-to-Friday mornings. The bus starts on Pine Grove Avenue west of Altona Road at 5:23 a.m. It ends in Pickering Parkway Terminal’s platform B12 at 5:48 a.m.

291 Harwood - Kingston
Starting Monday, March 7, DRT is extending the path so that buses operate to and from Pickering GO Station, instead of Pickering Town Centre.
Westbound buses serve passengers at new stops (for this route)
- on Glenanna Road beside #1869 Glennanna and at The Esplanade North,
- on Liverpool Road beyond Kingston Road and across from Pickering Parkway and
- in Pickering GO Station bus terminal.
Eastbound buses serve passengers at new stops (for this route)
- in Pickering GO Station bus terminal,
- on Liverpool Road beyond Pickering Parkway,
- on Kingston Road beyond Liverpool Road and
- on Glenanna Road across from The Esplanade.

902 King
Starting Saturday, March 12, DRT resumes service along the 902B branch of the route Saturdays. Buses along the 902B branch operate only between Highway 2 / Trulls Road and Oshawa Centre terminal.
DRT is also increasing the frequency of service along part of the route.

Starting Monday, March 7, DRT resumes service along the route **east of Farewell Street / Raleigh Avenue Saturdays.
DRT cancelled Saturday service east of Farewell / Raleigh Saturday, January 15 “due to ridership trends.”

Decreasing service along a route
291 Harwood - Kingston
Starting Monday, March 7, DRT is extending the path in east Pickering so that buses operate along Notion Road, instead of Bainbridge and Marshcourt Drives. It’s also extending the path so that buses operate to and from Pickering GO Station, instead of Pickering Town Centre.
Westbound buses no longer drop off or pick up passengers at stops
- on Bainbridge Drive beyond Kingston Road, across from Burnside Drive and at Fairfield Crescent [east],
- on Marshcourt Drive at Beechlawn and Ashford Drives and
- at Pickering Town Centre.
DRT is withdrawing all service to these stops.
Eastbound buses no longer drop off or pick up passengers at stops
- at Pickering Town Centre,
- on Marshcourt Drive across from Ashford and Bainbridge Drives,
- on Bainbridge Drive across from Fairfield Crescent [east], beyond Burnside Drive and beside #1802 Bainbridge and
- on Kingston Road beyond Bainbridge Drive.
DRT buses along the 900 PULSE Highway 2 route and Route 920 and Route N1 continue to serve passengers at the stop on Kingston Road.
DRT is withdrawing all service to the stops on Marshcourt and Bainbridge.

Increasing the frequency of service along routes
902 King
DRT is resuming Saturday service along the 902B branch of the route. As a result, it increases the frequency of service between Trulls Road / Highway 2 and Oshawa Centre Terminal from about 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Saturdays.
Starting Saturday, December 12, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops on that part of the route:
- every 15 minutes, instead of every 30 minutes.

915 Taunton
DRT is getting ready to introduce PULSE rapid bus service along the route.
As a first phase, it’s increasing the frequency of service along the route every day.
Starting Monday, March 7, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:
- every 15 minutes, instead of every 30 minutes, Monday to Fridays from about 7 until 10 p.m.
With this change, buses operate along the route every 15 minutes all day Monday to Fridays.
Starting Saturday, March 12, buses again serve passengers at stops:
- every 15 minutes, instead of every 30 minutes, Saturdays between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
DRT formerly provided every-15-minute service during these times Saturdays until Saturday, January 15. It decreased the frequency then, it said, “due to ridership trends.”
Starting Sunday, March 13, buses serve passengers:
- every 15 minutes, instead of every 30 minutes, Sundays and holidays between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Revising the path for buses along a route
291 Harwood - Kingston
Starting Monday, March 7, DRT is revising the path in east Pickering so that buses operate along Notion Road, instead of Bainbridge and Marshcourt Drives. It’s also extending the path so that buses operate to and from Pickering GO Station, instead of Pickering Town Centre.
Westbound buses operate along their usual route to Kingston and Notion Road, then proceed:
southward along Notion; and then
westward along Pickering Parkway to Marshcourt Drive,
