Metrolinx continues a project to upgrade Bramalea GO Station, as part of the GO Expansion Program.
Starting Wednesday, March 16, GO Transit is opening a new parking garage access to and from Bramalea Road. That means:
- You can drive into level 1 of the parking garage from Bramalea Road; and
- You can drive out of level 1 of the parking garage to Bramalea Road and head southbound (only).
The parking garage access to and from Steeles Avenue East is still available.

Since Tuesday, March 15, eastbound GO buses along this route have dropped off or picked up passengers at platform 14, instead of platform 7, in the bus loop:
- 36 Brampton / North York express.
GO says, “This change will enhance safety in the temporary bus loop.”
Since Friday, February 25, GO contractors have continued construction on the new bus platforms and parking lot. The work zone blocks the west tunnel and the nearby building.
Construction also affects how you access the train platforms. Look for information on signs to direct you safely to and from the station and around the work zone. Use the east tunnel by the station building to access the platforms. The work zone blocks all stairs and elevators connecting to the west tunnel.
GO expects to open new bus platforms and dedicated bus lanes from Steeles Avenue East and Bramalea Road when major construction ends later this spring, meaning construction continues to block the west tunnel at Bramalea GO Station as late as until June 30.
Since Saturday, January 29, GO and Brampton Transit contractors are installing new platforms for the new Züm station — a bus rapid transit stop — on Steeles Avenue West beside the station exit / entrance.
The work zone temporarily restricts traffic on the station roadway to just one lane in each direction.
The work zone continues to restrict traffic until spring”, meaning as late as **until June 30.
Since Monday, December 20, 2021, GO has relocated the bus loop to a new temporary location in front of the station building.
Use new pedestrian paths from Steeles Avenue East, the GO station building and parking garage to get to and from the new temporary bus loop.
GO expects the new temporary bus loop to be in place until major construction is complete “later next spring” (meaning as late as June 30), when permanent bus platforms open. Bus-only lanes from Steeles Avenue East and Bramalea Road will be available then to make sure all vehicles can enter and exit the station safely.
Monday, September 13, 2021, GO opened a new station building, featuring a new tunnel, and a new parking garage with 2,059 parking spaces at the station.
That day, GO closed all outdoor parking spaces in the north parking lot. You can park your vehicle in the new parking garage on the north side of the station or in the south parking lot off Advance Boulevard.
GO has relocated accessible and reserved parking spaces from the northwest parking lot to the first level of the parking garage, where you’ll have direct access to the new GO station building. More parking spaces, including accessible parking spaces, are also available in the south parking lot.
A new elevator on the west side of the south platform is now in service. The elevator means the station is accessible from the north and south parking lots.
Use the open portion of the new passenger pick-up and drop-off facility (or “kiss and ride”) in front of the new GO station building. GO has fenced off the former kiss and ride, while construction takes place.
Contractors have finished upgrading both platforms are complete and the platforms are now fully open.
Metrolinx and GO plan to accommodate more passengers and increase service along the Kitchener line, as part of their GO Expansion Program (formerly “regional express rail”).
