During the “week of” Monday, March 21, TTC track crews are repairing a section of deteriorated concrete margin along the streetcar right-of-way
- on Queen Street East just west of the on-ramp to the Don Valley Parkway.
The TTC says that it needs to complete this project “to return the area to a state of good repair”. Crews work only in the track area to excavate and remove the old concrete and install new concrete and asphalt. The TTC isn’t planning to replace rail as part of this project.
The work zone restricts traffic to just one lane in each direction. Access to the Don Valley Parkway will continue to be available. TTC crews will generally be on-site from 7 a.m. until as late as 11 p.m. They will only break or remove concrete from about 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. The crews won’t be working overnight.
The crews will complete the project in one day. TTC buses and streetcars along these routes continue to operate with regular service, but passengers can expect delays:
- 501 Queen streetcars;
- 501H Queen / Humber shuttle buses;
- 501L Queen / Long Branch shuttle buses;
- 503 Kingston Rd streetcars; and
- 504C King shuttle buses.
