Hurontario LRT - Port Credit: Buses temporarily replace GO trains along the Lakeshore West line, April 3

Metrolinx and its contractors continue construction of the Hurontario light rail transit line in Mississauga and Brampton.


All day Sunday, April 3, GO Transit is temporarily replacing trains with buses along the 01 Lakeshore West line to accommodate construction of the light rail transit line near Port Credit GO Station. Buses replace trains between Oakville GO Station and Union Station. The buses stop only at Clarkson and Port Credit GO stations. GO isn’t operating buses or trains to and from Long Branch, Mimico and Exhibition GO stations.

Trains operate only between West Harbour or Aldershot GO stations and Oakville.

This phase of Hurontario LRT construction near Port Credit GO Station can only take place when GO trains aren’t operating along the line.

Connecting GO buses along the 12 Niagara Falls / Burlington, 15 Brantford / Burlington, 16 Hamilton / Toronto express and 18 Lakeshore West routes operate with regular schedules.


Eastbound:
  • Buses operate from Oakville to Clarkson and Port Credit GO stations and Union Station Bus Terminal.
Westbound:
  • Buses operate from Union terminal to Port Credit, Clarkson and Oakville.

GO operates two trains in each direction to help Toronto Raptors fans travel to and from their National Basketball Association game against the Miami Heat in Scotiabank Arena.

Eastbound:
  • Starting in Aldershot GO Station at 4:55 p.m. and ending in Union Station at 6 p.m.; and
  • Starting in West Harbour GO Station at 5:13 p.m. and ending in Union at 6:30 p.m.
Westbound:
  • Starting in Union at 10:35 p.m. and ending in West Harbour at 11:53 p.m.
  • Starting in Union at 10:50 p.m. and ending in West Harbour at 12:08 a.m.

Alternate travel options
  • Travel options from Long Branch, Mimico or Exhibition to Union.
  • From Long Branch: Board an eastbound TTC bus along the 501B Queen route to Queen Street West and University Avenue. Transfer to Line 1 Yonge - University subway at Osgoode Station and travel southward to to Union Station. Total time: 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  • From Mimico: Board a northbound TTC bus along the 76 Royal York route to Royal York Station. Transfer to an eastbound train along Line 2 Bloor - Danforth subway. Transfer to Line 1 Yonge - University subway at St George Station and travel southward to to Union. Total time: 1 hour.
  • From Exhibition: Board an eastbound TTC streetcar along the 509 Harbourfront route to Union. Total time: 26 minutes.
  • Travel options to Exhibition, Mimico or Long Branch from Union:
  • To Exhibition: Board a westbound TTC streetcar along the 509 Harbourfront route to Exhibition. Total time: 26 minutes.
  • To Mimico: Board a northbound TTC train along Line 1 Yonge - University subway to St George. Transfer to a westbound Line 2 Bloor - Danforth subway train to Royal York. Transfer to a southbound bus along the 76 Royal York route. Total time: 1 hour.
  • To Long Branch: Board a northbound TTC Line 1 Yonge - University subway train (University branch) to Osgoode. Transfer to a westbound bus along the 501L Queen - Long Branch route to Long Branch. Total time: 1 hour and 15 minutes.

PRESTO
  • PRESTO fare-card machines are available at Oakville, Clarkson and Port Credit GO bus loops and Union Station Bus Terminal.
  • Tap on the device near your station bus loop or Union Station Bus Terminal when boarding and exiting replacement buses.
  • If you have set up a default trip on your PRESTO card, override the default by pressing the “Override” button on the PRESTO device, then tap your card as you normally would.

Metrolinx is building a “push box” at Port Credit GO Station to support the construction of the LRT infrastructure under the GO tracks. The push box is a large, hollow concrete box that crews will push under the train tracks to create a tunnel, allowing the future LRT vehicles to move through the area without disrupting rail service.
