Horner Avenue Etobicoke construction: TTC detouring buses during Metrolinx track work, starting April 27



Starting Wednesday, April 27, the City of Toronto is closing

  • Horner Avenue between Belvia Road and Kipling Avenue

to accommodate Metrolinx contractors who are connecting hydro ducts on either side of the Canpa Subdivision tracks.

The TTC is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 110 Islington.

Construction on Horner Avenue and the resulting TTC detours continue until June 15.


110 Islington South

Starting Thursday, April 27, the TTC detours buses along two branches of the route:

  • 110A branch - “via Horner and Browns Line”; and
  • 110B branch - “via Horner and 30th Street”.

110A branch - “via Horner and Browns Line”

From Thursday, April 27 until Wednesday, June 15, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Horner and Kipling Avenues, then detour:

southward along Kipling;
westward along Birmingham Street and Elder Avenue; and then
northward along 30th Street to Horner,
resuming their regular route westward along Horner.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Horner Avenue beyond Tupper Avenue, across from Fima Crescent, at Connorvale Avenue, Edilou Drive and 30th Street.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Kipling Avenue across from New Toronto Street and at Birmingham Street and
  • on 30th Street across from Akron Road and at Alhena and Horner Avenues.

Northbound buses reverse the southbound detour routing.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Horner Avenue across from Edilou Drive, at Belvia Road and Fima Crescent, beside #289 Horner and at Kipling Avenue.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on 30th Street beyond Horner Avenue, at Alhena Avenue and Akron Road and at Elder Avenue and
  • on Kipling Avenue at New Toronto Street and Horner Avenue.

110B branch - “via Horner and 30th Street”

From Thursday, April 27 until Wednesday, June 15, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Horner and Kipling Avenues, then detour:

southward along Kipling; and then
westward along Birmingham Street and Elder Avenue to 30th Street,
resuming their regular route northward along 30th.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Horner Avenue beyond Tupper Avenue, across from Fima Crescent, at Connorvale Avenue, Edilou Drive and 30th Street.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Kipling Avenue across from New Toronto Street and at Birmingham Street.
