Kingston Road Highland Creek construction: TTC detours, starting May 2



Since Monday, April 4,City of Toronto contractors have started the second phase of a project (.pdf) to rebuild the roadway

  • on Kingston Road between Centennial Road and Deep Dene Drive.

Starting Monday, May 2, the TTC is detouring eastbound buses along these routes to accommodate the work zone:

  • 86 Scarborough; and
  • 986 Scarborough express.

Construction on Kingston Road and the resulting TTC detours continue until June 17.

Westbound buses operate along their regular route.

From Monday, May 2 until Friday, June 17, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to the Highland Creek Overpass at Kingston Road, then detour:

westward along Kingston and Old Kingston Roads;
northward along Morrish Road; and then
eastward along Ellesmere Road to Meadowvale Road,
resuming their regular route northward along Meadowvale.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Highland Creek Overpass at Kingston Road,
  • on Kingston Road at Franklin Avenue and across from Choiceland Boulevard and
  • on Meadowvale Road beyond Kingston Road and at Ellesmere Road.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Ellesmere Road at Deep Dene Drive and across from Zaph Avenue.
