Green Road Stoney Creek railway construction: HSR detour, starting May 16



Starting Monday, May 16, the City of Hamilton is closing

  • Green Road between Arvin Avenue and North Service

to accommodate Canadian National Railway contractors who are maintaining the Grimsby subdivision tracks at the Green level crossing.

The Hamilton Street Railway is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:

Railroad-track maintenance on DeWitt Road and the resulting HSR detour continue until May 13.


Stoney Creek Industrial extra

From 7 a.m. Monday, May 16 until 7 p.m. Friday, May 20, westbound buses operate along their regular route to Green Road and Arvin Avenue, then detour:

westward along Arvin;
northward along Gray Road;
eastward along Community Avenue;
northward along Pinelands Avenue; and then
eastward along South Service Road to Green,
resuming their regular route eastward along South Service.

Eastbound buses don’t operate in this area during the railway-track maintenance:

  • on Green Road between Arvin and South Service.

Westbound buses reverse the eastbound detour routing.

Westbound buses don’t operate in this area during the railway-track maintenance:

  • on Green Road between South Service and Arvin.
