Union Avenue Prince Albert construction: DRT detour, starting May 23



Starting Victoria Day, Monday, May 23, the Township of Scugog is closing

  • Union Avenue in Prince Albert between Victoria and Josephine Streets

to accommodate a project to rebuild the roadway.

Durham Region Transit is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 905B Thickson - Reach.

Roadway construction on Union Avenue Prince Albert and the resulting DRT detour continue until June 8.

From 7 a.m. Victoria Day, Monday, May 23 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Old Simcoe Road and Victoria Street, then detour:

eastward along Victoria to Union Avenue,
resuming their regular route northeastward along Union.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Old Simcoe Road across from Jeffrey and Barber Streets,
  • on King Street beyond Old Simcoe Road and
  • on Union Avenue across from Hurd and Josephine Streets.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Victoria Street at Union Avenue.

Northbound buses reverse the southbound detour routing.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Union Avenue across from Robin Trail,
  • on King Street beyond Union Avenue and at Old Simcoe Road and
  • on Old Simcoe Road at Barber Street and across from Jeffrey Street.

Instead, northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Victoria Street beyond Union Avenue and at Old Simcoe Street.
