GO adjusting westbound train service along Lakeshore East line, May 27, 28, 29



GO Transit is temporarily adjusting westbound train service along the 09 Lakeshore East line late Friday, May 27 until end of service Sunday, May 29. By adjusting the schedules, GO can accommodate Metrolinx contractors who are replacing tracks between Ajax and Pickering GO stations.

Westbound trains from all stations between Oshawa GO Station and Union Station operate 20 minutes earlier than usually, except for the last train of the evening which operates 10 minutes later than usually.


Friday, May 27

Westbound trains:

  • The train that usually starts its trip in Oshawa at 9:40 p.m. is the last train to operate at its regular time. (The train arrives in Union Station at 10:40 p.m.)
  • The train that usually starts in Oshawa at 10:10 p.m. starts, instead, at 9:50 p.m. It drops off or picks up passengers in all stations as much as 20 minutes earlier than usually. It arrives in Union at 11:10 p.m.
  • The trains that usually start in Oshawa at 10:40 and 11:10 p.m. start, instead, at 10:20 p.m. and 10:50 p.m. They serve passengers in all stations 20 minutes earlier than usually. They arrive in Union at 11:50 p.m. and 12:10 a.m.
  • The train that usually starts in Oshawa at 11:40 p.m. starts, instead at 11:50 p.m. so that passengers can connect in Union with a train along the 01 Lakeshore West line. It serves passengers in all stations 10 minutes later than usually. It arrives in Union at 12:50 a.m.

Eastbound trains:

  • Trains operate with their regular schedule.

Saturday, May 28
Sunday, May 29

Westbound trains:

  • All trains after 5 a.m. (except for the last train of the day) drop off or pick up passengers in all stations 20 minutes earlier than usually.
  • At Union Station, you have to wait 20 minutes before you can continue further westward along the 01 Lakeshore West line.
  • The last train that usually leaves Oshawa GO Station at 11:40 p.m. leaves, instead, at 11:50 p.m. It serves passengers in all stations as much as 10 minutes later than usually. It arrives in Union Station at 12:50 a.m. so that passengers can connect with a train along the 01 Lakeshore West line.

Eastbound trains:

  • Trains operate with their regular schedule.

Connecting trains


Since GO interlines at Union Station trains along the 09 Lakeshore East line with trains along the 01 Lakeshore West line, adjusting schedule for one line affects the schedule for the other.


Friday, May 27

Westbound trains:

  • The train that usually leaves Union at 12:45 a.m. leaves, instead, at 12:55 a.m. to maintain its connection with the Lakeshore East schedule. The train drops off or picks up passengers in all stations as much as 10 minutes later than usually. It ends its trip in West Harbour GO Station at 2:13 a.m.

Eastbound trains:

  • Trains operate with their regular schedule.

Saturday, May 28
Sunday, May 29

Westbound trains:

  • GO is not adjusting the schedules for westbound trains. Trains operate with regular schedules.
  • It’s maintaining half-hourly train service.
  • The last train that along the 09 Lakeshore East line that usually leaves Oshawa GO Station at 11:40 p.m. leaves, instead, at 11:50 p.m. It serves passengers in all stations as much as 10 minutes later than usually. It arrives in Union Station at 12:50 a.m. so that passengers can connect with a train along the 01 Lakeshore West line.

Eastbound trains:

  • Trains operate with their regular schedule.

Connecting buses


81 Beaverton / Port Perry / Whitby
  • Southbound passengers must wait an extra ten minutes longer than usually in Whitby GO Station to connect with westbound trains along the 09 Lakeshore East line Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29.
88 Peterborough / Oshawa
  • Passengers travelling aboard the southbound bus starting on the Trent University campus at 10 p.m. and ending in Oshawa GO Station at 11:25 p.m. in Oshawa GO Station must wait and extra 10 minutes in the station to connect to the last westbound trains along the 09 Lakeshore East line Friday, May 27.
  • Southbound passengers must wait an extra ten minutes longer than usually in Oshawa GO Station to connect with westbound trains along the 09 Lakeshore East line Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29.
90B Lakeshore East buses
  • Late-night / early-morning buses operate with regular schedules.
