RBC Canadian Open: TTC detours, starting May 30



This year, Etobicoke’s St. George’s Golf and Country Club on Islington Avenue is hosting the annual RBC Canadian Open from Monday, June 6 to Sunday, June 12.

To avoid delays before, during and after the event, as crews set up and dismantle the event infrastructure, the May 30 until Friday, June 17:

  • 37 Islington;
  • 337 Islington overnight; and
  • 937 Islington express.

37 Islington

From Monday, May 30 until Friday, June 17, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Islington Avenue and Eglinton Avenue West, then detour:

westward along Eglinton West;
southward along Kipling Avenue; and then
southeastward along The Kingsway to Islington,
resuming their regular route southward along Islington.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Islington Avenue beside Richview Collegiate Institue, beyond Princess Margaret Boulevard and at Prince George Drive and The Kingsway.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Eglinton Avenue West at Russell Road.

Northbound buses reverse the southbound detour routing.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Islington Avenue beyond The Kingsway and at Ridge Valley Crescent [north], Poplar Heights Drive and Eglinton Avenue West.

Instead, northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Kipling Avenue at Eglinton Avenue West and
  • on Eglinton Avenue West at Eden Valley Drive.
937 Islington express

From Monday, May 30 until Friday, June 17, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Islington Avenue and Eglinton Avenue West, then detour:

westward along Eglinton West;
southward along Kipling Avenue; and then

resuming their regular route southward along Islington.

westward along Eglinton West;
southward along Kipling Avenue; and then
southeastward along The Kingsway to Islington,
resuming their regular route southward along Islington.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops
