Sunday, May 29, Region of Peel contractors resumed working on a project to rehabilitate
- Steeles Avenue West (Regional Road 15) between west of McLaughlin Road South and east of Lancashire Lane.
During this project, crews are:
- milling the asphalt surface; and
- paving base and top hot-mix asphalt.
The work zone may temporarily reduce traffic lanes to a single lane in each direction and temporarily block intersections. “Paid-duty” Peel Regional Police officers will be on site to help direct traffic. Crews mostly work Mondays to Fridays overnight from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. to limit the timeline for disrupting traffic. Occasionally, they may also work Saturdays to keep the project on schedule.
During the next phase of the project, from 7 p.m. Monday, May 30 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, the work zone temporarily reduces Steeles West between Tait Boulevard / Windmill Boulevard and McLaughlin South to just one lane of traffic in each direction.
