Mary Street North Oshawa construction: DRT detour, starting June 6



Starting Monday, June 6, the City of Oshawa is closing

  • Mary Street North between Ormond Drive and Taunton Road East

to accommodate Trans-Northern Pipelines contractors who are repairing a pipeline under the roadway.

Durham Region Transit is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:

Pipeline repairs on Mary Street North and the resulting DRT detour continue until July 4.


407C Ritson

From 7 a.m. Monday, June 6 until 5 p.m. Monday, July 4, northbound buses operate along their regular route to Mary Street North and Taunton Road East, then detour:

eastward along Taunton East; and then
northward along Ritson Road North to Ormond Drive,
resuming their regular route northward along Ritson North.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Mary Street North at Ormond Drive and
  • on Ormond Drive beside #216 Ormond and at Ritson Road North.

Instead, northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Ritson Road North at Ormond Drive.

DRT doesn’t operate southbound buses along the 407C branch of the route.
