Durham Region Transit is starting its summer service period, making mostly minor changes to its routes and services, this Monday, June 20.
It’s extending the 901 PULSE Simcoe route so that buses operate to and from the Windfields Farm neighbourhood of north Oshawa.
It’s also again extending the paths for buses along two routes to carry passengers to and from seasonal attractions this summer:
- to and from Rouge National Urban Park and the Toronto Zoo Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from about 8:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. along the 917 Bayly - Consumers route; and
- to and from beaches on the Ajax waterfront Monday-to-Friday evenings after about 7 p.m. and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays after about 10 a.m. along the 224 Harwood route.
DRT is revising service along these routes: 110 Finch; 112 Valley Farm; 216 Harwood North; 224 Harwood; 411 South Courtice; 900 PULSE Highway 2; 901 PULSE Simcoe; 915 Taunton; 916 Rossland; 917 Bayly - Consumers; Route N1; Route N2.
Specifically, it’s introducing new branches of routes; increasing service along routes; decreasing service along a route; increasing the frequency of service along a route; revising the paths for buses along routes; adjusting the schedules for buses along routes; and making seasonal changes to service along routes.
Introducing new branches of routes
917Z Bayly - Consumers
DRT is again extending the path so that buses operate to and from Rouge National Urban Park and the Toronto Zoo Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from about 8:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. this summer, starting Saturday, June 25.
It’s designating buses operating to and from the Zoo as serving the temporary 917Z branch of the route.
224 Harwood
DRT is again extending the path so that buses operate to and from beaches on the Ajax waterfront this summer, Monday-to-Friday evenings after about 7 p.m. and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays after about 10 a.m., starting Monday, June 20.
It’s designating buses operating to and from the beaches as serving the temporary 224C branch of the route.
DRT is also adjusting the schedules for buses along the route.
