Starting Sunday, June 19, the TTC is revising service along several routes to adjust frequency, improve reliability, re-introduce or cancel seasonal service or match service levels to passenger ridership levels. According to the transit agency, it “remains focused on restoring pre-pandemic system-wide investment in service. By the end of the year, [it] will be investing as much into… bus, streetcar, and subway services as [it] did before the pandemic. Service increases will be addressed on a route-by-route basis and may vary according to ridership levels.”
Highlights include:
- introducing new seasonal service into High Park along the 30B High Park route;
- temporarily removing service into Exhibition Place along the 29 Dufferin and 929 Dufferin express routes due to the large number of events taking place in the venue during summer and early fall; and
- revising the path and decreasing service hours along the 174 Ontario Place - Exhibition route due to the large number of events taking place in the Exhibiton Place during summer and early fall.
Construction projects continue to affect service along many routes:
- TTC track and overhead construction at Dundas West Station until September 2022;
- TTC track construction at the intersection of Queen Street West / King Street West / The Queensway / Roncesvalles Avenue until late 2022;
- TTC track construction on Wellington Street East until fall 2022;
- TTC “Easier Access” construction at Greenwood Station until mid-2023: Buses along the 31 Greenwood route detouring from Greenwood Station to Coxwell Station;
- TTC “Easier Access” construction at Donlands Station until early 2023: Buses along the 56 Leaside and 83 Jones routes detouring;
- TTC “Easier Access construction” at Rosedale Station, blocking a single bus platform until early 2025: Buses along the 82 Rosedale route dropping off or picking up passengers on the street;
- TTC lower bus platform construction at Wilson Station until December 2022: 29 Dufferin, 104 Faywood, 160 Bathurst North and 929 Dufferin express divert to a temporary bus terminal on the east side of Wilson Station off Wilson Heights Boulevard;
- City of Toronto construction on Cummer Avenue between Leslie Street and Bayview Ave until September 2022: westbound buses along the 42 Cummer route detouring.
- City construction at the intersection of Cherry Street and Lake Shore Boulevard East: Buses along the 172 Cherry Beach route detouring.
This project is ending:
- City construction on Broadview Avenue between Danforth Avenue and Gerrard Street East: streetcar service along the 504B King and 505 Dundas routes returns to Broadview Station.
Due to fewer riders boarding buses resulting from social distancing and lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic, the TTC continues to suspend service along these express routes:
- 141 Downtown / Mt Pleasant express;
- 142 Downtown / Avenue Rd express;
- 143 Downtown / Beach express;
- 144 Downtown / Don Valley express; and
- 145 Downtown / Humber Bay express.
The TTC also continues to suspend service along these routes due to the pandemic:
- 176 Mimico GO shuttle;
- 508 Lake Shore.
The TTC continues to suspend service along this route due to Metrolinx construction of the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line:
- 103 Mt Pleasant North.
As a pilot project, the TTC continues to combine route 503 service with the former 502 Downtowner route, as it has since September 9, 2019.

Starting Sunday, June 19, the TTC resumes streetcar service along Broadview Avenue. Saturday, June 18 is the last day that it operates buses along this temporary route.
Introducing new branches of routes
29B Dufferin
Since Exhibition Place is closing its grounds to traffic during the many events it hosts during summer, the TTC is temporarily revising the path for buses on the route.
Starting Sunday, June 19, some buses along the route follow a new path through the Liberty Village neighbourhood. The TTC designates the new path as the 29B branch of the route, temporarily replacing the 29C branch.
The TTC is also cancelling branches of the route and increasing the frequency of service along the route.
30 High Park
Starting Saturday, June 25, the TTC is reintroducing buses into High Park, with a separate service operating to and from High Park Station.
That day, the TTC designates the current service along the route between Runnymede Loop and High Park Station as the 30A branch. It designates the service into the park as the 30B branch.
The TTC is also decreasing the frequency of service and making another change to service along the route.
Cancelling branches of routes
29C Dufferin
Since Exhibition Place is closing its grounds to traffic during the many events it hosts during summer, the TTC is temporarily revising the path for buses on the route.
During the temporary detour, the TTC is cancelling the 29C (Wilson Stn - Princes’ Gate) branch of the route.

The TTC operates just six buses in each direction along the branch Monday-to-Friday midmornings.
Summer service ends and regular service resumes Tuesday, September 6.
The TTC is also decreasing service and increasing and decreasing the frequency of service along the route.
363 Ossington overnight
Since Tuesday, February 5, 2019, the TTC has diverted buses from operating through the terminal at Eglinton West Station after 2:30 a.m. during ongoing Metrolinx construction of the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line.
Starting early Monday, June 20, the TTC reopens the terminal overnight, and buses again operate through it.
The transit agency designates all buses as operating along route 363 and no longer splits the service between the 363A and 363B branches.
Increasing service along routes
505 Dundas
The City of Toronto has completed its project to install new water mains on Broadview Avenue between Danforth Avenue and Gerrard Street East. The TTC is resuming regular streetcar service along the route to and from Broadview Station terminal, starting Sunday, June 19. Buses no longer operate between the station and King Street East / Parliament Street. Saturday, June 18 is the last day that buses replace streetcars along the east end of the route.

It ends its trip in Meadowvale Loop at 2:51 p.m.

Friday, January 17 is the last day that the TTC operates four westbound buses on single trips along the route between Main Street Station and Lansdowne Avenue Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours.

Since fewer passengers travel to and from Centennial College’s Progress campus during summer, the TTC’s decreasing the hours of service along the 102A branch (Centennial College - Warden Stn) of the route.
Starting Monday, June 20, buses operate along the branch Mondays to Fridays only after 7 p.m. Passengers travelling to and from the campus can board buses along the 902 Markham Rd express route before 7 p.m.

174 Ontario Place - Exhibition

The TTC is temporarily revising the path for buses along the route and decreasing the running time — the time it schedules for drivers to complete a round trip along the route.

The TTC is adjusting the schedules “to improve service reliability”. By adjusting the schedules, it also increases the frequency of service along the route late Sunday-and-holiday evenings after about 10 p.m.

- every 19½ minutes, instead of every 20 minutes, east of Neilson Road; and
- every 9 minutes 45 seconds, instead of every 10 minute, west of Neilson.
The TTC is also decreasing the frequency of service along the route during other time periods.
30 High Park
The TTC is adjusting the schedules for buses along the route “to improve service reliability”. By adjusting the schedules, it’s increasing and decreasing the frequency of service during various time periods.
Starting Sunday, June 19, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops between Runnymede Loop and High Park Station bus terminal:
- every 21 minutes instead of every 23 minutes, Sundays and holidays from about 8 a.m. until noon; and
- every 22 minutes, instead of every 23 minutes, from about 7 until 10 p.m.

189 Stockyards
The TTC is adjusting the schedules for buses along the route “to improve service reliability”. By adjusting the schedules, it’s increasing and decreasing the frequency of service during various time periods.
Starting Sunday, June 19, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops:
- every 21 minutes, instead of every 20 minutes, Sundays and holidays from about 8 a.m. until noon; and
- every 26 minutes, instead of every 25 minutes, from about noon until 7 p.m.
Starting Monday, June 20, buses serve passengers at stops:
- every 25 minutes, instead of every 22 minutes, Mondays to Fridays from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.; and
- every 28 minutes, instead of every 20 minutes, during afternoon rush hours.
Starting Saturday, June 25, buses serve passengers:
- every 23 minutes, instead of every 20 minutes, Saturdays from about 8 a.m. until noon; and
- every 28 minutes, instead of every 30 minutes, after about 10 p.m.
The TTC is also making another change to service along the route.
Revising the paths for transit vehicles along routes
29 Dufferin
Since Exhibition Place hosts many events during summer, often blocking streets in and near the complex, the TTC is temporarily cancelling service along the route south of Dufferin Gate Loop to and from Princes’ Gate. It’s also revising the path.
Starting Sunday, June 19, southbound buses operate along their usual route to Dufferin Street and King Street West, then proceed:
eastward along King West;
southward along Strachan Avenue; and then
westward along East Liberty and Liberty streets to Atlantic Avenue,
ending their trips.Southbound buses no longer drop off or pick up passengers at their usual stops
- on Dufferin Street across from Liberty Street and at Springhurst Avenue,
- in Dufferin Gate Loop,
- on Saskatchewan Road beyond Dufferin Street,
- on Manitoba Drive at Quebec Street and Nova Scotia Avenue and
- on Canada Boulevard at Prince’s Boulevard.
Instead, southbound buses serve passengers at new stops (for this route)
- on King Street West across from Joe Shuster Way and at Atlantic Avenue and Douro and Shaw Streets,
- on Strachan Avenue at Canniff Street and East Liberty Street,
- on East Liberty Street beyond Pirandello Street and at Lynn Williams Street and
- on Liberty Street at Atlantic Avenue.
Northbound buses start their trips on Liberty Street at Atlantic Avenue, then proceed:
westward along Liberty to Dufferin Street,
resuming their usual route northward along Dufferin.Northbound buses no longer drop off or pick up passengers at their usual stops
- on Canada Drive at Princes’ Boulevard,
- on Princes’ Boulevard across from Newfoundland Road,
- on Nunavut Road beside the Horse Palace,
- on Manitoba Drive across from Nova Scotia Avenue and at Saskatchewan Road,
- on Saskatchewan Road at Dufferin Street and
- on Dufferin Street across from Springhurst Avenue and at Liberty Street.
Instead, northbound buses serve passengers at new temporary stops
- on Liberty Street at Atlantic Avenue and
- on Dufferin Street beside #249 Dufferin.
TTC buses likely resume their usual route later this year, when fewer events occur in Exhibition Place.
The TTC is also temporarily introducing a new branch and cancelling current branches of the route. It’s also increasing the frequency of service along the route.
929 Dufferin express
Since Exhibition Place hosts many events during spring and summer, often blocking streets in the complex, the TTC is temporarily cancelling service along the route south of Dufferin Gate Loop to and from Princes’ Gate. Instead, starting Monday, March 28, all buses operate only between Wilson Station and Dufferin Gate Loop.
Friday, March 25 was the last day (for now) that southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at the stop:
- on Canada Boulevard at Princes’ Boulevard.
It’s also the last day for now that northbound buses serve passengers at the stop:
- on Canada Boulevard at Princes’ Boulevard.
TTC buses likely resume their usual route later this year, when fewer events occur in Exhibition Place.
The TTC is also increasing the frequency of service along the route.
505 Dundas
The City of Toronto has completed its project to install new water mains on Broadview Avenue between Danforth Avenue and Gerrard Street East. The TTC is resuming regular streetcar service along the route to and from Broadview Station terminal, starting Sunday, June 19. Buses no longer operate between the station and King Street East / Parliament Street. Saturday, June 18 is the last day that buses replace streetcars along the east end of the route.
Westbound cars again drop off or pick up passengers at stops
- in Broadview Station terminal,
- on Erindale Avenue at Broadview Avenue,
- on Broadview Avenue at Danforth Avenue, across from Wolfrey Avenue, Montcrest Boulevard and Withrow and Langley Avenues, at Jack Layton Way and Gerrard Street East.

The TTC is also decreasing service along the route.
504 King
The City of Toronto has completed its project to install new water mains on Broadview Avenue between Danforth Avenue and Gerrard Street East. Streetcars along both branches operate to and from Dufferin Gate Loop and along Dufferin Street, King Street West between Dufferin and Yonge streets and King Street East between Yonge and Sumach Street. Cars along the 504A branch then proceed along Sumach and Cherry streets to and from Distillery Loop. Cars along the 504B branch proceed along King East, Queen Street East and Broadview to and from Broadview Station.

30 High Park
Starting Saturday, June 25, the TTC is reintroducing buses into High Park, with a separate service operating to and from High Park Station Saturdays, Sundays and holidays during summer. It designates this service as the 30B branch of the route.
Southbound buses start their trips in High Park Station bus terminal, then proceed:
southward along High Park Avenue;
south- and eastward along West Road;
northward along Colborne Lodge Drive to Centre Road,
ending their trips.Southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops
- in High Park Station bus terminal,
- on West Road beyond Bloor Street West and beside the baseball field and
- on Colborne Lodge Drive at Centre Road.
Northbound buses start their trips on Colborne Lodge Drive at Centre Road, then proceed:
northward along Colborne Lodge and High Park Avenue; and then
westward into High Park Station bus terminal,
ending their trips.Northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops
- on Colborne Lodge Drive at Centre Road, beside the swimming pool and at Bloor Street West and
- in High Park Station bus terminal.
Buses drop off or pick up passengers every 20 minutes from about 8 a.m. until midnight Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
The TTC is also introducing new branches of the route, increasing and decreasing the frequency of service along the route and making another change to service along the route.
174 Ontario Place - Exhibition
Starting Monday, June 20, the TTC revises the path for buses along the route.
Southbound buses operate along their usual route to Manitoba Drive and Strachan Avenue, then proceed:
eastward along the streetcar right of way on Fleet Street;
southward along Fort York Boulevard; and then
westward along Lake Shore Boulevard West to Strachan,
resuming their usual route westward along Lake Shore West.Southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a new stop
- on Fleet Street at Fort York Boulevard.

363 Ossington overnight
Since Tuesday, February 5, 2019, the TTC has diverted buses from operating through the terminal at Eglinton West Station after 2:30 a.m. during ongoing Metrolinx construction of the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line.
Starting early Monday, June 20, the TTC reopens the terminal overnight, and buses again operate through it.
Southbound buses no longer pick up passengers at stops:
- on Eglinton Avenue West at Glenholme and Oakwood avenues.
Instead, southbound buses again serve passengers at their former stop:
- on Eglinton Avenue West at Marlee Avenue.
Northbound buses no longer drop off passengers at a stop
- on Eglinton Avenue West at Glenholme Avenue.
Instead, northbound buses again serve passengers at their former stops:
- on Oakwood Avenue at Clovelly Avenue and Eglinton Avenue West and
- on Eglinton Avenue West across from Marlee Avenue.
The TTC is also cancelling branches of the route.

Starting Sunday, June 19, some buses along the route follow a new path through the Liberty Village community.
The TTC is also temporarily introducing a new branch and cancelling current branches of the route. It’s also increasing the frequency of service along the route.
929 Dufferin express

189 Stockyards
Starting Sunday, June 20, the TTC interlines at High Park Station buses along route 189 with buses along the 30 High Park route.
The TTC is also increasing and decreasing the frequency of service along the route.
Transit agencies often interline buses along two or more routes with a common terminal to save resources — human resources, meaning drivers, and physical resources, meaning vehicles. For example, after a southbound buses along the 30 High Park route arrives in High Park Station bus terminal, it then proceeds northbound along the 189 Stockyards route. After completing a round trip along route 189, it returns to High Park Station and then proceeds northward along route 30.
