Kimbel / Drew Mississauga construction: MiWay detour, starting June 22



Update — Friday, November 11, 4:41 p.m.: Construction on Kimbel Street and Drew Road and the resulting MiWay detour continue until further notice.


Update — Thursday, October 6, 5:37 p.m.: Construction on Kimbel Street and Drew Road and the resulting MiWay detour continue until November 14.


Update — Tuesday, July 14, 7:54 p.m.: Construction on Kimbel Street and Drew Road and the resulting MiWay detour continue until October 7.


Starting Wednesday, June 22, the City of Mississauga is closing

  • Kimbel Street between Drew Road and Torbram Road and
  • Drew Road between Kimbel Street and Torbram Road

to accommodate Region of Peel contractors who are completing a project to replace the sanitary sewer and water main.

MiWay is detouring buses along this route, while the streets are closed:

(Updated — Friday, November 11, 4:41 p.m.) (Updated — Thursday, October 6, 5:37 p.m.) (Updated — Tuesday, July 14, 7:54 p.m.) From Wednesday, June 22 until Wednesday, July 21 until Friday, October 7 until Monday, November 14 until further notice, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Drew and Torbram roads, then detour:

northward along Torbram to Kimbel Street,
resuming their regular route northward along Torbram.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Drew Road beyond Torbram Road and beside #2600 Drew and
  • on Kimbel Street beside #7346 Kimbel and at Torbram Road.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Torbram Road at Drew Road.

Westbound buses reverse the eastbound detour routing.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Kimbel Street beyond Torbram Road and beside #s 7350 and 7300 Kimbel and
  • on Drew Road beyond Kimbel Street [2 stops] and at Torbram Road.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Torbram Road at Kimbel Street.
