GO buses detour in Kitchener due to construction, starting July 11



Starting Monday, July 11, the Region of Waterloo is closing

  • Weber Street East (Regional Road 8) between Borden Street North and Montgomery Road

in Kitchener to accommodate a project to repave the roadway.

GO Transit is detouring buses along these routes, while the street is closed:

  • 25 Waterloo / Mississauga; and
  • 30 Kitchener / Brampton express.

Construction on Weber Street East and the resulting GO detours continue until July 15.

From Monday, July 11 until Friday, July 15, eastbound buses operate along their regular routes to Weber Street East and Borden Street North, then detour:

southward along Borden North; and then
eastward along King Street East to Montgomery Road,
resuming their regular route eastward along King East.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Weber Street East at Montgomery Road.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on King Street East at Montgomery Road beside Red Lobster.

Westbound buses reverse the eastbound detour routing.

Westbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Weber Street East beyond Montgomery Road.

Instead, westbound buses temporarily drop off or pick up passengers at the Grand River Transit stop

  • on King Street East beyond Montgomery Road across from Red Lobster.
