GO revising schedules for Lakeshore East trains, July 22, 23, 24

Lakeshore East 2022 Primary.jpg

Metrolinx continues working to enhance the 09 Lakeshore East line, as part of the GO Expansion Program.

This weekend, construction crews are upgrading the signals near Guildwood GO Station to support significant service improvements on the line. They can only complete this work when trains are not operating along certain tracks.

To accommodate this signal-upgrade activity, starting late Friday, July 22 until Sunday, July 24, GO Transit is revising the schedules for trains along the line late evenings and mornings. It is also cancelling some trains. Regular weekend service operates during the rest of each day, except for minor changes before the Toronto FC match Saturday, July 23.

Friday, July 22

Westbound service:

  • GO is cancelling the train that usually leaves Oshawa at 11:10 p.m. for Union.
  • The train that usually leaves Oshawa at 11:40 p.m. leaves, instead, at 11:45 p.m. It drops off or picks up passengers at Whitby, Ajax, Pickering and Rouge Hill GO stations as much as five minutes later than usually. It then serves passengers at Guildwood, Eglinton, Scarborough and Danforth GO stations 12 minutes later than usually.
  • GO is also revising one train along the 01 Lakeshore West line. The train that usually leaves Union at 12:45 a.m. for West Harbour GO Station leaves, instead, at 12:50 a.m. to maintain its connection with the late-departing Lakeshore East train from Oshawa. It drops off or picks up passengers as much as ten minutes later at all stations on the line.

Eastbound service:

  • The train that usually leaves Union at 11:05 p.m. for Oshawa leaves, instead, at 11:15 p.m. It serves passengers at all stations on the line as much as ten minutes later than usually.
  • GO is cancelling the train that usually leaves Union at 11:35 p.m. for Oshawa.
  • It’s also replacing the train that usually leaves Union at 12:45 a.m. for Oshawa with buses. The buses operate express — without stopping — between Union and Pickering, then stop in Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa. The buses don’t stop in Danforth, Scarborough, Eglinton, Guildwood or Rouge Hill. You can board TTC trains and buses to travel to and from these stations.
