CP railway-track maintenance closes Highway 7 Woodbridge, affects Brampton Transit, YRT service, overnight July 23, 24



From 8 p.m. Saturday, July 23 until 6 a.m. Sunday, July 24, the Region of York is closing

  • Highway 7 between Kipling and Wallace avenues

in the City of Vaughan to accommodate Canadian Pacific Railway contractors who are maintaining the tracks of the Mactier subdivision on the overpass crossing the highway.

York Region Transit is detouring buses along these routes, while the highway is closed:

Closing the road also affects Brampton Transit service along this route:

  • 501 Züm Queen.

However, BT has not announced detour information.


77 Highway 7

From 8 p.m. Saturday, July 23 until 6 a.m. Sunday, July 24, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Highway 7 and Kipling Avenue, then detour:

northward along Kipling;
eastward along Woodbridge Avenue; and then
southward along Islington Avenue to Highway 7,
resuming their regular route eastward along the highway.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Highway 7 at Kipling and Islington avenues.

Westbound buses reverse the eastbound detour routing.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Highway 7 beyond Islington Avenue and at Kipling Avenue.

northward along Kipling;
eastward along Woodbridge Avenue; and then
