Update — Thursday, August 18, 5:52 p.m.: Crews are paving the south side of the Steeles roadway, affecting Brampton Transit and MiWay service from 7 p.m. Thursday, August 18 until 6 a.m. Friday, August 19.
Since Monday, July 4, Region of Peel contractors have resumed working on a project to rehabilitate
- Steeles Avenue West (Regional Road 15) between west of McLaughlin Road South and east of Lancashire Lane.
in the City of Brampton.
During this project, crews are:
- milling the asphalt surface;
- repairing cracks;
- replacing base and surface asphalt layers; and
- repainting pavement markings.
The work zone may temporarily reduce traffic lanes to a single lane in each direction and temporarily block intersections. “Paid-duty” Peel Regional Police officers will be on site to help direct traffic. Crews mostly work Mondays to Fridays from 9:30 a.m. until 6 a.m. Occasionally, they may also work overnight Saturdays and Sundays to keep the project on schedule.
Also, from 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 17 until 6 a.m. Thursday, August 18, the Region and City are closing:
- McLaughlin Road South, all lanes, just north of Steeles Avenue West;
- Steeles Avenue West, one eastbound lane, between west of Windmill Boulevard and Lancashire Lane; and
- Steeles West, two westbound lanes, between Lancashire and west of Tait Boulevard,
to pave the north side of the Steeles roadway.
Brampton Transit is detouring buses along these routes, while the street is closed:
