Railroad Street construction: Brampton Transit detour, starting August 22



Starting Monday, August 22, the City of Brampton is closing

  • Railroad Street between McMurchy Avenue North and West Street

to accommodate Region of Peel contractors who are installing sanitary sewers.

Brampton Transit is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 52 McMurchy.

Construction on Railroad Street and the resulting Brampton Transit detour continue until September 2.

From Monday, August 22 until Friday, September 2, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Nelson Street West and George Street North, then detour:

westward along Nelson West to McMurchy Avenue North,
resuming their regular route southward along McMurchy North.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Railroad Street across from Mill Street North and West Street and
  • on McMurchy Avenue North beyond Railroad Street and Denison Avenue and at Nelson Street West.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route to McMurchy Avenue North and Nelson Street West, then detour:

eastward along Nelson West; and then
northward along George Street North to Downtown Brampton Terminal,
resuming their regular route eastward into the terminal.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on McMurchy Avenue North at Denison Avenue and Railroad Street and
  • on Railroad Street beyond McMurchy Avenue North and at West Street and Mill Street North.
