Lower Sherbourne / Lake Shore East construction: TTC detour, starting August 22



Starting Monday, August 22, the City of Toronto is closing

  • Lake Shore Boulevard East, westbound lanes, between Lower Sherbourne and Lower Jarvis streets,

to accommodate Enbridge crews who are installing a new gas main.

The work zone blocks through traffic on Lower Sherbourne Street.

The TTC is detouring buses along this route, while construction blocks the street:

  • 75 Sherbourne.

Construction at Lower Sherbourne / Lake Shore East and the resulting TTC detour continue until August 26.


75 Sherbourne

From 7 a.m. Monday, August 25 until 5 p.m. Friday, August 26, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Sherbourne Street and Front Street East, then detour:

eastward along Front East;
southward along Parliament Street; and then
westward along Queens Quay East to Lower Sherbourne Street,
resuming their regular route westward along Queens Quay East.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Sherbourne Street at Front Street East and
  • on Lower Sherbourne Street at The Esplanade and beyond Lake Shore Boulevard East.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Front Street East at Berkeley and Parliament streets and
  • on Queens Quay East beyond Lake Shore Boulevard East and at Lower Sherbourne Street.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route.
