Special events in Brampton, the Malvern area of Toronto, Oshawa, central Toronto and the Winona area of Hamilton affect transit services this weekend — Friday, August 26, Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28.

Brampton Farmers Market

Saturday mornings and early afternoons until October 8, the City of Brampton is closing

  • Wellington Street West between George and Main Streets South

to accommodate the city’s weekly farmers market.

GO Transit is likely detouring service while the street is closed, but has not announced detour routings.

From 6:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, August 27, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Downtown Brampton Terminal, then detour:

eastward along Nelson Street West; and then
southward along Main Streets North and South to Wellington Street,
resuming their regular route southward along Main South.

Eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at all stops.

Westbound buses reverse the eastbound detour routing.

Westbound buses skip their regular stop

  • Markham Road between between Passmore and McNicoll Avenues

  • the 102B branch (Steeles - Warden Stn); and

From 10 p.m. Friday, August 26 until 5 a.m. Sunday, August 28, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Tapscott Road and Select Avenue, then detour:

southward along Tapscott; and then
westward along McNicoll Avenue to Markham Road,
resuming their regular route southward along Markham.

  • on Passmore Avenue at Markham Road,
  • on Markham Road at Passmore, Turbina and McNicoll avenues.

Winona Peach Festival

The Hamilton Street Railway is again operating shuttle buses to take you to the annual festival and back again. The buses are free of fare although event organizers and the HSR would appreciate your donations of non-perishable food items for local foodbanks.

Free shuttle buses operate between Eastgate Terminal and Winona Park Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday morning and afternoon.

Westbound buses start their trips on Parkmanor Drive at the south end of Winona Park, then proceed:

westward along Parkmanor;
southward along Milliken Drive; and then
westward along Queenston Road (City Highway 8) to Eastgate Terminal,
ending their trips.

Eastbound buses start their trips at Eastgate Terminal, then proceed:

eastward along Queenston Road (City Highway 8);
northward along Maple Gate Drive; and then
westward along Parkmanor Drive to the south side of Winona Park,
ending their trips.

Westbound buses leave Winona every 10 minutes from 5 until 11:30 p.m. Friday, August 26*, every 10 minutes from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. Saturday, August 27 and every 10 minutes from 10:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, August 28.

Eastbound buses leave Eastgate every 10 minutes from 4:30 until 8 p.m. Friday, every 10 minutes from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and every 10 minutes from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday.
