Metrolinx and its contractors continue construction of the Hurontario light rail transit line in Mississauga and Brampton.
This fall, the contractors start on the next phase of construction for the future LRT, requiring GO Transit to adjust its schedules Monday-to-Friday evenings. Starting Tuesday, September 6, evening trains along the 01 Lakeshore West line drop off or pick up passengers at stations every hour, while GO also adjusts the times for some of the train trips along the line.
This next phase of LRT construction includes installing an underpass under the Lakeshore West corridor. GO must close at least two of the tracks on the line near Port Credit GO Station so that crews can safely work on the project.

Eastbound trains
- The trains that usually start their trips in West Harbour GO Station at 9:13, 10:13 and 11:13 p.m. start, instead, in Aldershot GO Station and operate hourly. They leave Aldershot 15 minutes earlier than usually at 9:10, 10:10 and 11:10 p.m. Buses along the 18 Lakeshore West route connect passengers travelling between West Harbour and Aldershot. The trains end their trips in Union Station at 10:15 and 11:15 p.m. and 12:15 a.m.
- More trains start in Exhibition GO Station at 9:51, 10:51 and 11:51 p.m. They end in Union at 10 and 11 p.m. and 12:01 a.m.
Westbound trains
- The trains that usually start in Union at 7:45, 8:45 and 9:45 p.m. end in Aldershot instead of West Harbour. Buses along the 18 Lakeshore West route connect passengers travelling between Aldershot and West Harbour and also operate to the Hamilton GO Centre.
- After the 7:45 p.m. train leaves Union Station, trains only operate hourly, leaving Union at 8:45, 9:45, 10:45 and 11:45 p.m. and 12:45 a.m. They end in Aldershot at 8:50, 9:50, 10:50 and 11:50 p.m. and 12:50 a.m.
- More trains leave Union at 9:15, 10:15 and 11:15 p.m., but they end in Exhibition GO Station at 9:22, 10:22 and 11:22 p.m.
Buses
- GO is adjusting the schedules of buses along these routes so that passengers can continue to connect with the trains:
- Some buses leave stops as much as 15 minutes earlier than usually.
At Port Credit GO Station, the LRT construction team is making sure that the light rail vehicles can connect to the station. To do so, they are pushing under the tracks using a push box - a large, hollow concrete box that they will push underground to create a tunnel. This will serve as the underpass for the vehicles to get into and out of Port Credit Station.
