Update — Mnday, January 27, 7:56 a.m.: The TTC says, “Remaining wall finish panels, and temporary lighting supports at platform level were removed and disposed. New wall finish panels, ceiling, lighting, and surveillance system will be installed along with cosmetic upgrades. New subway platform panels are anticipated to arrive in early 2025, and work to install them will take place throughout 2025/2026.”

Update — Thursday, February 7, 7:55 a.m.: The TTC says, “New wall finish panels, ceiling, lighting, and surveillance system will be installed along with cosmetic upgrades. New subway platform panels are anticipated to arrive in early 2024, and work to install them will take place throughout 2024.”

Update — Monday, March 6, 2023, 7:02 p.m.: Work continues in 2023.

Starting “September 2022” — perhaps as early as Tuesday, September 6 — the TTC continues to update the finishes at Queen’s Park and St. Patrick stations. In spring 2021, it successfully relocated lighting and surveillance systems, and removed asbestos above the plaster ceiling over track and platform level. This fall 2022, the TTC will complete the remaining abatement work at Queen’s Park and St. Patrick Stations.

Crews are removing the remaining wall finish panels, and removing and disposing of temporary lighting supports at platform level. They will install new wall finish panels, ceiling, lighting and surveillance system along with “cosmetic” upgrades.

The Queen’s Park and St. Patrick Station Finishes program will take place in phases over the next two years. Crews will conduct abatement work behind hoarding or during non-operating hours. During operating hours, crew abate asbestos abatement behind dust-tight hoarding with the necessary abatement enclosure. The project team is working with the contractor to ensure safe operations while the crews use the abatement enclosure. The TTC Safety and Environment Unit will provide oversight for all abatement enclosures and work activities as necessary throughout construction.

The TTC continues to operate regular subway service during abatement work activities in 2022.

The TTC started to upgrade the finishes in the two stations “in spring 2021”.
