Infor Graphic Updated Aug 31 Final.jpg

GO Transit is replacing trains with buses from the evening of Friday, September 9 until the end of service Sunday, September 11. This weekend, crews are working between Newmarket and Aurora GO stations to:

  • upgrade railway crossings;
  • remove and install culverts;
  • remove vegetation; and
  • maintain the tracks.

GO says this work “will support significant service improvements on the Barrie line.” It further explains that it can only complete this work while trains aren’t operating.

Buses skip Downsview Park GO Station. Board TTC trains along Line 1 Yonge - University to travel to and from Downsview Park station.

Some buses operate express to Aurora GO Station. Be sure to check schedules and signs before you board a bus at Union terminal.

Friday, September 9
  • GO is extending the northbound train that usually starts its trip in Union Station at 8:53 p.m. The train drops off or picks up passengers in all stations and continues further northward beyond Aurora to end in Bradford GO Station at 10:04 p.m.
  • It’s cancelling the train that usually starts in Union at 10:53 p.m. Instead, GO is operating a bus that starts in Union Station Bus Terminal at 10:22 p.m. and ends in East Gwillimbury GO Station at midnight. In East Gwillimbury, you can transfer to a bus along the 68 Barrie / Newmarket / Aurora route to continue to Allandale Waterfront GO Station.
  • After 10:13 p.m. GO isn’t providing any service to Downsview Park station.
