Metrolinx is extending the TTC’s Line 2 Bloor - Danforth subway further into Scarborough to McCowan Road and Sheppard Avenue East. The subway extension will replace Line 3 Scarborough rapid transit.
GO Transit has new on-street bus stops on Borough Drive at Triton Road, west of Scarborough Town Centre beside the entrance to the Hudson’s Bay Company store. This bus stop replaces the GO bus terminal at Scarborough Centre Station and will be in service until about 2030, when GO expects to open a new, permanent terminal as part of the subway project.
Starting Saturday, October 1, GO, TOK Coachlines and Megabus relocate their stops to the new site.
The new stop features:
- a new sidewalk on east side of Borough Drive;
- six bus platforms;
- four bus shelters; and
- a fare device.
The new stop is 70 to 200 metres to the closest TTC stop, where you can board north- and southbound buses along the 43B Kennedy via Progress route and southbound buses along the 21 Brimley route. The stop is also 250 to 350 metres to the Scarborough Town Centre [mall] and the TTC’s Line 3 Scarborough Centre station and bus terminal.
GO buses along these routes drop off or pick up passengers at the new stop
- 41 Hamilton / Pickering;
- 92 Oshawa / Yorkdale;
- 94 Pickering / Mississauga; and
- 96 Oshawa / Finch express.
Starting Friday, October 9, the TTC will add a new stop for buses along the 985A Sheppard East express route at Triton Road and Borough Drive to improve access for passengers transferring between TTC and GO Transit. This will be in addition to buses along the 21 Brimley and 43B Kennedy via Progress routes that already stop at this intersection. TTC on-vehicle stop announcements aboard buses along all three routes will also indicate “GO Transit and Intercity Buses” at the transfer locations starting October 9.
