GO revising train services, October 11: More rush-hour trains; weekend service resumes along Barrie and Stouffville lines



Starting Tuesday, October 11, GO Transit is revising train service along several lines.

It’s restoring some service that it cancelled during the COVID-19 pandemic. GO says, “We’re bringing service back in phases and working to get you ready to ride once again. As we gradually add more trips, be sure to check schedules in advance and plan ahead. We’ll continue to pay close attention to travel patterns and do our best to keep service aligned with demand.”


GO is revising train services along these lines: 01 Lakeshore West; 31 Kitchener; 61 Richmond Hill; 65 Barrie; 71 Stouffville.

65 Barrie

Starting Tuesday, October 11, GO resumes operating two Monday-to-Friday rush-hour trains along the line — one in each direction.

The southbound train starts its trip in Allandale Waterfront GO Station at 6:51 a.m. It ends in Union Station at 8:33 a.m. The northbound train starts in Union at 5:23 p.m. It ends in Allandale at 7:07 p.m.

Starting Saturday, October 15, GO resumes regular weekend and holiday service along the line.

31 Kitchener

Starting Tuesday, October 11, GO is adjusting some train trips by a few minutes, it says, “to better reflect travel times.”

The eastbound train that usually starts its trip London VIA / GO Station at 5:18 a.m. Mondays to Fridays, starts, instead, three minutes earlier at 5:15 a.m. The train also leaves from St. Marys and Stratford VIA / GO stations earlier. The train ends its trip in Union Station at 9:28 a.m.

Also, all eastbound trains from Kitchener VIA / GO Station leave one minute earlier than usually.

01 Lakeshore West

Starting Tuesday, October 11, GO resumes operating the Niagara-bound train that starts its trip in Union Station at 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. The train ends its trip in Niagara Falls VIA / GO Station at 7:33 p.m.

Starting Saturday, October 15, GO continues weekend-and-holiday service to and from Niagara Falls year-round.

Trains skip St. Catharines GO / VIA Station “until Spring 2023”.

61 Richmond Hill

Starting Tuesday, October 11, GO resumes operating the northbound train that starts its trip in Union Station at 6:45 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. The train ends its trip in Bloomington GO Station at 7:46 p.m.

71 Stouffville

Starting Tuesday, October 11, GO is adjusting the schedules for some trains along the line by a few minutes. Some trains make longer than normal stops at Agincourt GO Station to give passengers extra time to board their trains.

To accommodate for this schedule change, most southbound trains from Old Elm GO Station leave one minute earlier than usually and some northbound trains leave stations north of Agincourt one minute later.

Starting Saturday, October 15, GO resumes regular weekend and holiday service along the line.
