Hurontario LRT - City Centre: Construction blocks bus-only ramp, affecting Brampton Transit, GO, MiWay service, overnight October 24, 25

Metrolinx and its contractors continue construction of the Hurontario light rail transit line in Mississauga and Brampton.


From 11 p.m. Monday, October 24 until 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, the work zone temporarily blocks the bus-only ramp connecting Hurontario Street to Rathburn Road West.

Brampton Transit is likely detouring buses along this route, while the ramp is closed, but BT hasn’t announced detours:

  • 502 Züm Main.

MiWay is detouring buses along these routes, while the ramp is closed:

  • 7 Airport; and
  • 17 Hurontario.

^ Note that MiWay doesn’t operate buses along routes 34 and 315 during the time that the bus-only ramp is closed.

GO Transit has not announced service changes, but buses serving these routes also operate along the bus-only ramp:

  • 41 Hamilton / Pickering;
  • 45 Mississauga / Markham;
  • 47 Hamilton / Vaughan; and
  • 56 Oshawa / Oakville.

GO passengers aboard buses along the routes can expect detours and delays.


Brampton Transit
502 Züm Main

(Brampton Transit hasn’t confirmed detour-routing information. We’ve based this part of the post on information BT supplied about detours along this route during a previous closure of the bus-only ramp.)

From 11 p.m. Monday, October 24 until 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Hurontario Street and Rathburn Road, then detour:

southward along Hurontario;
westward along Square One Drive; and then
northward along City Centre Drive to Rathburn West,
resuming their regular route westward along Rathburn.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route.

MiWay
7 Airport

From 11 p.m. Monday, October 24 until 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, southbound buses operate along their regular route to the junction of the off-ramp to Centre View Drive from Hurontario Street and the bus-only ramp to Rathburn Road West, then proceed:

westward along the Hurontario off-ramp;
north- and westward along Centre View;
southward along Duke of York Boulevard; and then
eastward along Rathburn West to City Centre Terminal,
resuming their regular route southward into the terminal.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route.

17 Hurontario

From 11 p.m. Monday, October 24 until 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, southbound buses operate along their regular route to the junction of the off-ramp to Centre View Drive from Hurontario Street and the bus-only ramp to Rathburn Road West, then proceed:

westward along the Hurontario off-ramp;
north- and westward along Centre View;
southward along Duke of York Boulevard; and then
eastward along Rathburn West to City Centre Terminal,
resuming their regular route southward into the terminal.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route.
