Yonge Street crane activity: TTC detours, October 28 to 31



From 7 p.m. Friday, October 28 until 5 a.m. Monday, October 31, the City of Toronto is closing

  • Yonge Street between Breadalbane Street / Maitland Street and Grosvenor Street / Alexander Street

to accommodate contractors who are assembling and dismantling a mobile crane and removing a tower crane at a construction site at 480 Yonge Street.

The TTC is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 97 Yonge; and
  • 320 Yonge overnight.

From 7 p.m. Friday, October 28 until 5 a.m. Monday, October 31, southbound buses operate along their regular routes to Yonge and Wellesley Streets, then detour:

westward along Wellesley West;
southward along Bay Street; and then
eastward along Gerrard Street West to Yonge,
resuming their regular routes southward along Yonge.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Yonge Street at Grosvenor and College streets and beside College Park.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Bay Street beyond Wellesley Street West and at Grosvenor and College streets.

Northbound buses operate along their regular routes to Yonge and Carlton Street / College Street, then detour:

westward along College;
northward along Bay Street; and then
eastward along Wellesley Street West to Yonge,
resuming their regular routes northward along Yonge.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Yonge Street at College and Alexander streets and Wellesley Street West.

Instead, northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on College Street at Bay Street and
  • on Bay Street at Grosvenor Street and Wellesley Street West.
