GO trains operate hourly along the Lakeshore East line, November 12, 13

Saturday, November 12 and Sunday, November 13, GO Transit trains along the 09 Lakeshore East line drop off or pick up passengers at all stations every hour, instead of every 30 minutes.

Metrolinx subway. According to GO, “this work can only be done when trains are not running on certain tracks.”

Trains operate hourly between Union Station and Durham College Oshawa GO Station. Some trains leave stations a few minutes earlier than usually, while other trains leave at their usual times.

Passengers hoping to travel further westward beyond Union Station will have to wait longer than usually to connect with trains along the 01 Lakeshore West line.

Regular train service resumes Monday, November 14.


Buses

Impacts to service along route 81 (Beaverton / Port Perry / Whitby)

  • Southbound:
  • The connection time for the 8:55 a.m. bus, arriving in Whitby GO Station at 10:30 a.m., increases to 11 minutes.
  • The connection time for the 1:55 p.m. bus, arriving in Whitby at 3:30 p.m., increases to 17 minutes.
  • Northbound:
  • GO is cancelling the train that usually leaves Union Station at 10:20 a.m. this weekend. Passengers wishing to connect to the bus that leaves Whitby at 11:38 a.m. bus for Port Perry must board an earlier train, which results in a longer connection time of 43 minutes.
  • GO is cancelling the train that usually leaves Union Station at 3:20 p.m. Passengers wishing to connect to the bus that usually leaves Whitby at 4:38 p.m. bus for Port Perry must board an earlier train, which results in a longer connection time of 53 minutes.

Impacts to service along route 88 (Peterborough / Oshawa)

  • Southbound:
  • The connection time for the 5:40 a.m. bus, arriving in Durham College Oshawa GO Station at 7:25 a.m., decreases to just seven minutes this weekend.
  • The connection time for the 9:35 a.m. bus, arriving in Oshawa at 11:25 a.m., increases to 16 minutes.
  • GO is cancelling the trains that usually leave Union Station at 2:04, 9:20, and 11:20 a.m. and 12:20, 3:20, 5:20, 6:20, 8:20 and 11:20 p.m. trains. Passengers wishing to connect to these trains must board the next train and the connection time increases to 29 to 46 minutes.
  • Northbound:
  • GO is cancelling the trains that usually leave Oshawa GO Station at 8:20 a.m. and 3:04, 5:04, 6:04, 8:04 and 9:04 p.m. Passengers wishing to transfer to all northbound buses must board earlier trains and the connection time increases to between 40 to 52 minutes.
