Thursday, November 17, Region of York contractors started a project to improve
- Major Mackenzie Drive between Jane and Keele streets
in the Maple area of the City of Vaughan.
Starting Monday, December 5, the work zone blocks vehicles from turning at
- the intersection of Major Mackenzie with Keele.
York Region Transit is detouring buses along this route, while the work zone temporarily restricts bus access:
- 462 Maple high-school special.
This phase of construction on Major Mackenzie Drive continues “until February 2023”, meaning as late as until February 28, 2023.

Monday-to-Friday school days, starting Monday, December 5, the morning bus operates along its regular route to Keele Street and Major Mackenzie Drive, then detours:
northward along Keele; and then
west- and southward along Killian Road to Major Mackenzie,
resuming its regular route westward along Major Mackenzie.The morning bus skips its regular stops
- on Major Mackenzie Drive a cross from Gram Street and at Killian Road.
Instead, the morning bus drops off or picks up passengers at a temporary stop
- on Killian Road at Major Mackenzie Drive.
