Update — Friday, February 3, 5:06 p.m. — Water-main repairs on King Street West at University Avenue have ended. The TTC is revising the detours for streetcars and buses along the 504A / 504B / 504C King routes. Buses along the 503 Kingston Rd route resume their previous detour routing.
Update — Monday, January 23, 5:30 p.m.: Starting Sunday, January 22, the TTC revised the detours for buses and streetcars along the 304 King overnight, 504A King and 504C King shuttle-bus routes due to emergency water-main repairs on King Street West at University Avenue.
Update — Friday, January 20, 11:22 a.m.: Starting Friday, January 20, the TTC revised the detours for streetcars along the 504A King route due to emergency sewer repairs on Dufferin Street near Exhibition Place.
Friday, December 9, the City of Toronto and TTC end their ongoing project (.pdf) to replace the water-main and streetcar tracks
- at the intersection of King Street West with Shaw Street.
That day, the TTC resumes streetcar service through the intersection along this route:
- 504 King.
The transit agency also again spits service between two branches. Streetcars along the 504A branch of the route operate between Dufferin Gate and Distillery loops. Streetcars along the 504B branch of the route operate between Wolseley Loop (west side of Bathurst Street north of Queen Street West) and Broadview Station.
Shuttle buses continue to replace streetcars west of Dufferin Street due to ongoing construction at the intersection of Queen Street West / King Street West / The Queensway / Roncesvalles Avenue.
The transit agency continues to replace streetcars with buses along the entire 304 King overnight route, due to the ongoing project.
Since the City is reopening the intersection, the TTC no longer detours buses along these routes:
- 63 Ossington; and
- 363 Ossington overnight.
Construction at King West / Shaw started Saturday, September 4.
504 King
The TTC again splits streetcar service so that cars operate along two branches:
Starting Friday, December 9, eastbound streetcars start their trips in Dufferin Gate Loop, then proceed:
northward along Dufferin Street; and then
westward along King Street West to Bathurst Street,
resuming their regular route eastward along King West.Eastbound cars skip their long-term detour stops
- on Manitoba Drive at Strachan Avenue,
- on Fleet Street beyond Fort York Boulevard, across from Bastion Street and at Bathurst Street and
- on Bathurst Street at Fort York Boulevard, Niagara Street and King Street West.
Instead, eastbound cars again drop off or pick up passengers at regular stops
- in Dufferin Gate Loop,
- on Dufferin Street at Liberty Street and King Street West,
- on King Street West across from Joe Shuster Way and at Atlantic Avenue, Douro and Shaw streets, Strachan Avenue and Niagara and Tecumseth streets.

Westbound cars operate along their long-term detour route to King Street West and Bathurst Street, then proceed:
westward along King West;
southward along Dufferin Street;
westward along Springhurst Avenue;
southward along Fort Rouille Street; and then
