York Region Transit is “[adjusting] and [improving its] services to better connect you to the places you want to go,” starting Sunday, January 8. According to YRT, its revising its routes and services “to adjust to changing [passenger] demand.”
Due to fewer riders during the pandemic, YRT continues to suspend service along these routes:

It’s also suspending parts of these routes:

Cancelling a route
22 King City
YRT “temporarily” cancelled service along the route in April, 2020 as it cut back service during the lockdowns resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, it’s permanently cancelling the route. It explains that it’s cancelling it “to minimize duplication of service.” YRT buses along the 88] Bathurst, 96] Keele - Yonge and 460] Cardinal Carter high-school special via Kingshill routes drop off or pick up passengers at most route 22 stops.
Increasing service along routes
90 Leslie
Starting Monday, January 9, YRT again operates the northbound bus that leaves Don Mills Road north of Steeles Avenue East at 2:39 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. (The bus ends its trip in Richmond Green Loop at 3:03 p.m.
By again operating buses on this short trip along part of the route, YRT improves service for passengers travelling from St. Robert Catholic Secondary School.
462 Maple high-school special
“To improve service for passengers travelling from Maple High School”, YRT is operating an extra bus along the route Monday-to-Friday school-day afternoons. Starting Wednesday, November 30, 2022, the bus leaves Springside Road west of Parktree Road (across from Maple High School) at 3:49 p.m. It ends its trip on Keele Street north of Rutherford Road at 3:49 p.m.
Monday-to-Friday school days, starting Monday, January 9, YRT resumes service along the route after the holidays.
2 Milliken
Starting Sunday, January 8, westbound buses along the route drop off or pick up passengers at a new stop
- on Esna Park Drive at Woodbine Avenue [near side].
By adding this new stop for buses along the route, YRT improves service for passengers transferring to buses along route 2 from buses along the 24 Woodbine route.
YRT is also adjusting the frequency of service along the route and adjusting the schedules for buses along the route.
Decreasing service along routes
720 Highway 407 Terminal / Wonderland
New Year’s Eve, Friday, December 31 was the last day until spring that YRT operated buses along the route.
Mobility On-Request North
Friday, March 17 (or earlier, depending on weather conditions) is the last dayYRT’s Mobility On-Request service extends to the Town of Georgina’s Recreational Outdoor Campus (“The ROC”) Wednesdays to Fridays from 4:30 until 9 p.m.
50 Queensway
Sunday, March 19 (or earlier, depending on weather conditions) is the last day buses along the route operate to and from the Town of Georgina’s Recreational Outdoor Campus (“The ROC”) Saturdays, Sundays and holidays on request.
760 Vaughan Mills / Wonderland
Monday, January 2 was the last day until spring that YRT operates buses along the route Mondays to Fridays. Service continues Saturdays, Sundays and holidays only, starting Saturday, January 7.
YRT is also adjusting the schedules for buses along the route.
450 St. Theresa high-school special via Tower Hill
YRT is extending the path so that buses operate along Jefferson Sideroad between Bathurst and Yonge streets. This is a pilot project. YRT intends to evaluate the effectiveness of the pilot during the 2023 school year.

Common vivastations lie east of Kennedy / Highway 7 vivastation and west of Town Centre vivastation. Unique vivastations lie between Kennedy / Highway 7 and Town Centre vivastations.

It ends its trip on Bloomington Road West east of Academy Drive (beside Cardinal Carter Catholic Secondary School) at 8:05 a.m.

Starting Monday, January 9, the southbound bus that usually leaves Newmarket Terminal at 7:20 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, at 7:18 a.m. The bus drops off or picks up passengers at stops as much as two minutes earlier than usually. It ends its trip in Pioneer Village Station terminal at 8:47 a.m.
By adjusting the schedule, YRT improves service for passengers connecting with a southbound GO Transit train at King City GO Station. The bus arrives on Keele Street beside the station at 8:01 a.m. The train leaves the station at 8:07 a.m., leaving passengers six minutes to transfer between bus and train.
411 Markham District high-school special via Box Grove
Starting Monday, January 9, the bus that usually leaves 14th Avenue east of Markham Road at 7:32 a.m. Monday-to-Friday school days leaves, instead, at 7:25 a.m. It picks up passengers at stops as much as eight minutes earlier than usually. It ends its trip on Church Street across from Russell Stover Court (beside Markham District High School) at 8:09 a.m.
