Starting Sunday, January 8, the TTC is revising its services by:
- resuming regular schedules after the holidays;
- improving service reliability across the network; and
- accommodating for construction activities along various routes
It’s also revising the paths for several routes, including extending the 996 Wilson express route so that buses operate to and from Ellesmere Station.
Due to fewer riders boarding buses resulting from social distancing and lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic, the TTC continues to suspend service along these express routes:
- 141 Downtown / Mt Pleasant express;
- 142 Downtown / Avenue Rd express;
- 143 Downtown / Beach express;
- 144 Downtown / Don Valley express; and
- 145 Downtown / Humber Bay express.
The TTC also continues to suspend service along this route due to the pandemic:
- 508 Lake Shore.
The TTC continues to suspend service along this route due to Metrolinx construction of the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line:
- 103 Mt Pleasant North.
As a pilot project, the TTC continues to combine route 503 service with the former 502 Downtowner route, as it has since September 9, 2019.

Resuming service along branches of routes
38B Highland Creek
Holiday service ends and regular service resumes.
Since more passengers travel to and from the University of Toronto’s Scarborough campus during winter and spring, the TTC is again operating buses along the 38B short-turn branch of the route. (Buses along the 38B branch usually operate only between the campus and Scarborough Centre Station.)
By resuming service along the branch, the TTC also increases the frequency of service west of U of T Scarborough and decreases the frequency east of U of T.
134C Progress
Holiday service ends and regular service resumes.
Since more passengers travel to and from the Centennial College’s Progress campus during winter and spring, the TTC is resuming service along the 134C short-turn branch of the route Mondays to Fridays before about 7 p.m. (Buses along the 134C branch operate between the campus and Scarborough Centre Station.)
Cancelling a branch of a route
95C York Mills
Friday, January 6 was the last day that the TTC operated buses along the 95C branch (Ellesmere Stn - York Mills Stn) branch of the 95 York Mills route Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.
Starting Monday, January 9, it’s partially replacing this service by extending the 996 Wilson express route further eastward to operate to and from Ellesmere Station.
The TTC is also decreasing the frequency of service along the route.
Increasing service along routes
19 Bay
Starting Monday, January 9, the TTC operates an extra southbound bus along the route Mondays to Fridays. It starts its trip on Bay Street just south of Front Street West at 7:20 a.m. After ending its trip, the bus “deadheads” —operates without passengers — to Broadview Avenue and Queen Street East, where it completes an eastbound trip along the 503 Kingston Rd route.
(In fact, the bus originates on route 503 service, ending its trip on York Street south of King Street West at 7:15, then deadheading to Bay / Front West.)
925 Don Mills express
The TTC is operating extra buses along the route Mondays to Fridays during rush hours so that services matches passenger demand.
Starting Monday, January 8, extra northbound buses leave Don Mills Station for Don Mills Road south of Steeles Avenue East at 6:55, 7:25, 7:55, 8:25 and 8:55 a.m. Returning southbound buses leave Freshmeadow Drive east of Don Mills Road at 7:10, 8:10, 8:40 and 9:10 a.m.
More extra northbound buses leave Pape Station for Don Mills Station at 3 and 4:20 p.m. A single returning southbound bus leaves Don Mills Station at 3:40 p.m.
The TTC is also adjusting the schedules for buses along the route.

The TTC operated buses along the routes with regular schedules during the holidays, except it cancelled extra service for passengers travelling to and from high schools.
Starting Monday, January 9, the TTC resumes the extra high-school service.
44 Kipling South
Since more passengers travel to Humber College’s Lakeshore campus during spring and summer, the TTC’s operating extra buses along the route Monday-to-Friday mornings.
It’s operating four southbound buses that start in Kipling Station at 6:22, 6:28, 6:34 and 6:40 a.m. They end in Colonel Smith Park loop at 6:39, 6:45, 6:51 and 6:67 a.m.
Previously, the four buses operated along the 944 Kipling South express route, leaving from 6:30 until 7 a.m. They return northbound as express trips along route 944.
The TTC is also operating two more extra southbound buses for passengers travelling to Humber. The buses start in Kipling Station at 7:31 and 7:45 a.m. They end their trips in Smith loop at 7:49 and 8:03 a.m.
After arriving in Smith loop, the buses “deadhead” — operate without passengers — to Lake Shore Boulevard West and Mimico Avenue, where they resume serving passengers at stops on the 76 Royal York South route.
The TTC is also decreasing the frequency of service along the route.
52 Lawrence West
Starting Monday, January 9, the TTC operates a bus on a new eastbound trip along the 52D branch of the route Monday-to-Friday mornings. The bus leaves Westwood Square terminal at 6:52 a.m.
Also starting January 9, an eastbound bus on high-school-extra service that usually ended its trip in Lawrence West Station bus terminal at 4:15 p.m. Mondays to Fridays continues further eastward to Lawrence Station bus terminal. The bus leaves Lawrence Station on a return westbound trip along the route at 4:32 p.m.
102A Markham Rd
Holiday service ends and regular service resumes.
Since more passengers travel to and from Centennial College’s Progress campus during winter and spring, starting Monday, January 9, the TTC is again operating buses along the 102A short-turn branch of the route Mondays to Fridays before about 7 p.m. (Buses along the 102A branch operate between the campus and Warden Station. Buses continued to operate along the branch during other times of the week for the holidays.)
Also starting January 9, the TTC operates an extra northbound bus along the route for passengers travelling from R.H. King Academy. The bus leaves Warden Station at 2:30 p.m. It returns southbound from Steeles Avenue East at 3:25 p.m.
The TTC also operates another northbound bus for passengers travelling from high schools. It leaves Warden Station at 3:13 p.m.
The TTC is also increasing and decreasing the frequency of service along parts of the route before about 7 p.m.
902 Markham Rd express
Since more passengers travel to and from Centennial College’s Progress campus during fall and winter, the TTC’s operating extra buses along the route Monday-to-Friday mornings.

86 Scarborough
New Year’s Day, Sunday, January 1 was the last day that the TTC operated shuttle buses between the Toronto Zoo and Sheppard / Meadowvale loop Sundays and holidays. The buses served passengers travelling to and from the Terra Lumina event at the zoo.
The buses continue to operate Saturday evenings. Starting Saturday, January 14, they operate only from 7 until 9:40 p.m.

By adjusting the schedules, the TTC also increases and decreases the frequency of service along the route.

509 Harbourfront
The TTC is adjusting the schedules for streetcars along the route, it says, “to improve reliability” and to match service with passenger demand. According to local transit commentator, Steve Munro, it’s also revising the running and layover times to avoid conflicts with parallel service along the 510 Spadina route. Streetcars along route 509 “layover” - pause — in Exhibition Loop after completing a westbound trip along the route and before starting an eastbound trip.
By adjusting the schedules, the TTC is also increasing and decreasing the frequency of service along the route during various periods.
