Dundas Street / Tansley Bridge construction: Oakville Transit detour, starting January 23



The Region of Halton continues its project to upgrade

From 9 p.m. Monday, January 23 until 5 a.m. Tuesday, January 24 and continuing overnight Monday-to-Friday evenings and Tuesday-to-Saturday mornings, the Region and the local municipalities are closing

  • Dundas Street between Sutton Drive and Tremaine Road

so that contractors can improve the Tansley Bridge. (The bridge carries traffic on Dundas over Bronte Creek.)

Oakville Transit is detouring buses along this route, while the bridge is closed:

Construction continues to block the Tansley Bridge and Oakville Transit continues to detour buses until February 18 (5 a.m.)

Monday-to-Friday evenings after 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. and from Monday, January 23 until Friday, February 17, the eastbound buses that usually leave the Dundas / Highway 407 Park and Ride carpool lot at 9:30 and 10:30 p.m. operate as shuttle buses. They leave the carpool lot at 9:40 and 10:40 p.m., ending their trips beside the west entrance of Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital at 10:08 and 11:08 p.m. Connecting buses along route 5 leave the hospital at 10:46 p.m. and 11:10 p.m. Regular eastbound buses along route 5 / 5A start their trips on Dundas Street West west of Bronte Road at 9:41 and 10:41 p.m.

Eastbound shuttles operate along the regular path for route 5 to Dundas Street (Burlington) and Sutton Drive, then proceed:

southward along Sutton;
eastward along Upper Middle Road (Burlington);
southward along Burloak Drive;
eastward along the Queen Elizabeth Way;
northward along Bronte Road;
westward along Upper Middle Road West (Oakville);
northward along Colonel William Parkway;
eastward along Dundas Street West (Oakville);
northward along Hospital Gate; and then
eastward along the access road to Oakville Memorial Hospital’s west entrance,
ending their trips.

The westbound buses that usually leave Oakville GO Station at 8:40 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. Route 5 from Oakville GO will travel as far as Dundas and Colonel William Parkway, where the bus will short turn and go out of service.
