A broken water-main
- on King Street West at University Avenue
wreaked havoc on TTC services Saturday, January 21 as water flooded into St Andrew Station. Line 1 Yonge - University subway trains skipped stopping in the station after about 2:40 p.m. Sunday and the TTC detoured streetcars off of King West.
The TTC also temporarily halted subway service between St George and King stations from about 6:40 until 7:30 p.m., with regular service along Line 1 resuming after that.
(Updated — Friday, March 31, 10:14 a.m.) (Updated — Tuesday, February 28, 7:48 p.m.:) (Updated — Wednesday, February 15, 3:04 p.m.) However, St Andrew station remains inaccessible to passengers with mobility restrictions until “mid-February”, meaning as late as until February 18 until “the end of February”, meaning as late as until February 28 until “the end of March”, meaning as late as until March 31 until “the end of April”, meaning as late as until April 30. The station’s escalators and elevators aren’t functioning due to the effects of the water that entered the station, although trains continue to stop at the station. You can still exit and enter the station by the staircases.
The City of Toronto continues to close King West at University, while crews repair the main. Starting Sunday, January 22, the TTC is detouring streetcars and buses along these routes around the work zone:
