Metrolinx construction at Yonge Street overpass: TTC detour, starting January 23



Starting Monday, January 23, the City of Toronto is closing

  • The Esplanade between Church and Yonge streets

to accommodate Metrolinx contractors who are partially demolishing the overpass carrying GO Transit trains into and out of Union Station.

The TTC is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 121 Esplanade - River.

Construction on the Yonge Street overpass and the resulting TTC detour continue until February 17.

From Monday, January 23 until Friday, February 17, westbound buses operate along their regular path to The Esplanade and Church Street, then detour:

northward along Church; and then
westward along Wellington Street East to Yonge Street,
resuming their regular path westward along Wellington West.

  • on The Esplanade beyond Church Street and at Yonge Street and
  • on Yonge Street at Front Street East.

Eastbound buses operate along their regular path.
