Starting Monday, January 30, TTC track crews are repairing the rails in Exhibition Loop.
The transit agency is detouring streetcars along these routes, while the work zone blocks access to the loop:
Shuttle buses replace the cars west of Bathurst Street.
Rail repair in Exhibition Loop and the resulting TTC detours continue until February 1.
The TTC explains that “Rail work of this nature is required around-the-clock to ensure quality installation of new rail and concrete. Expected overnight activities include saw-cutting and milling concrete, rail welding and placing new concrete. Concrete is poured in the track area and set to cure before the work zone is removed by February 1.”
511 Bathurst
From 5 a.m. Monday, January 31 until 3 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, southbound cars operate along their regular path to Bathurst and Fleet streets, then detour:
southward along Bathurst;
eastward along Queens Quay West; and then
northward into Spadina / Queens Quay Loop,
ending their trips.Southbound cars skip their regular stops
- on Fleet Street beyond Bathurst and Bastion streets and Fort York Boulevard,
- on Manitoba Drive beyond Strachan Avenue and
- in Exhibition Loop.
Instead, southbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on Queens Quay West beyond Bathurst Street, Dan Leckie Way and Lower Spadina Avenue and
- in Spadina / Queens Quay Loop.
Shuttle buses replace the cars west of Bathurst Street. Southbound streetcar passengers can transfer to westbound buses on Bathurst Street at Fort York Boulevard.
Northbound cars reverse the southbound detour routing.
Northbound cars skip their regular stops
- in Exhibition Loop,
- on Manitoba Drive at Strachan Avenue and
- on Fleet Street beyond Fort York Boulevard, across from Bastion Street and at Bathurst Street.
Instead, northbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- in Spadina / Queens Quay Loop,
- on Queen’s Quay West beyond Lower Spadina Avenue and Dan Leckie Way and
- on Bathurst Street beyond Queens Quay West.

From 5 a.m. Monday, January 31 until 3 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, eastbound cars start their trips in Fleet Loop, then proceed:
along their regular path eastward along Fleet.

- on Manitoba Drive at Strachan Avenue and
- on Fleet Street beyond Fort York Boulevard.

Westbound cars operate along their regular path to Fleet Street across from Fleet Loop, then proceed:
southward into Fleet Loop,

From 5 a.m. Monday, January 31 until 3 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, buses replace streetcars along the 509 Harbourfront and 511 Bathurst routes west of Bathurst Street.
Eastbound buses start their trips on Manitoba Drive beside Exhibition Loop, then proceed:
eastward along Manitoba and Fleet Street;
north- and eastward along Fort York Boulevard; and then
southward along Bathurst Street to Fleet,
ending their trips.Eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops
- on Manitoba Drive at Strachan Avenue,
- on Fort York Boulevard at Bathurst Street (unofficial) and
- on Bathurst Street at Fleet Street (unofficial).
Eastbound bus passengers may transfer to northbound streetcars along the 511 Bathurst route on Fort York Boulevard at Bathurst Street. They may transfer to eastbound streetcars along the 509 Harbourfront route on Bathurst Street at Fleet Street.
Westbound buses start their trips on Bathurst Street north of Fleet Street, then proceed:
southward along Bathurst;
westward along Lake Shore Boulevard West;
northward along Fort York Boulevard;
westward along Fleet Street and Manitoba Drive;
southward along Canada Boulevard;
westward along Princes’ Boulevard;
north- and westward along Nunavut Road;
northward along Nova Scotia Avenue; and then
eastward along Manitoba Drive to across from Exhibition Loop,
